Job Title: OMS Platform Reliability Lead
Location: 100% Remote
Employment Type: 6-month contract(potential for extension)
Pay rate : $61/hr on W2.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced OMS Platform Reliability Lead to drive the reliability, stability, and automation of a high-volume Order Management System (OMS) platform. This is a highly technical role that combines Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and technical leadership to improve platform health through automation, observability, and proactive incident management.
The ideal candidate will lead a technical support team while serving as the bridge between Software Engineering and IT Operations, driving self-healing capabilities, operational excellence, and continuous platform improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Automation & Self-Healing
Design and implement automated order replay mechanisms to resolve synchronization failures across event-driven integrations.
Develop automation tools and scripts using Python, REST APIs, or platform SDKs for bulk updates and system remediation.
Build advanced monitoring dashboards using tools such as Splunk, Datadog, ELK, or New Relic.
Design proactive alerting to detect stuck orders, inventory mismatches, API failures, and platform issues before customer impact.
Platform Reliability & Incident Management
Serve as the highest technical escalation point for production issues requiring Java debugging and GraphQL troubleshooting.
Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using application logs and event-driven architecture.
Analyze API performance and database interactions to recommend performance improvements.
Maintain incident documentation, technical workarounds, and operational runbooks.
Engineering Collaboration
Partner with Engineering, Architecture, and E-commerce teams to ensure operational requirements are incorporated into development roadmaps.
Collaborate with external platform vendors regarding upgrades, integrations, and API changes.
Mentor technical support engineers in GraphQL optimization, Java debugging, and platform troubleshooting.
Release & Change Management
Validate platform configurations and custom extensions during release cycles.
Support Git-based version control, branching strategies, and operational hotfix deployments.
Ensure deployment stability through strong CI/CD awareness and release governance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in OMS Technical Operations, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering within high-volume SaaS environments.
Strong understanding of Order Management Systems and event-driven architectures.
Experience with REST APIs, JSON, GraphQL, and Java troubleshooting.
Strong SQL skills for operational diagnostics and reporting.
Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment best practices.
Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, ELK Stack, or New Relic.
Knowledge of messaging/event technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or Event Grid.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with experience performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Familiarity with ITIL processes and an SRE mindset focused on automation and reducing manual operational effort.
