The Power BI Developer designs, develops, and deploys interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, ensuring data quality and providing BI solutions to support decision-making.
This is a remote position.
The Power BI Developer will design, develop, and deploy interactive reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate will understand business intelligence, data modeling, and visualization best practices. The candidate will work closely with the solution architect and product owner to implement high-performing data visualizations that fulfill the requirements of the business. They will be part of a team of developers through implementing, deploying, and enhancing analytics solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to provide insights and support business decision-making.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored BI solutions.
- Transform raw data into meaningful insights using Power BI's data transformation capabilities (Power Query) and DAX formulas.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and security by implementing proper validation, monitoring, and access controls within Power BI.
- Provide Power BI support to business users to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Continuously evaluate new Power BI features and other visualization tools to improve reporting capabilities.
- Optimize the performance of reports and dashboards to ensure timely access to insights.
- Document BI processes, datasets, and best practices to ensure consistency and maintainability.
Requirements
• Power BI certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with data reporting and visualization tools
• 3+ years of experience with Power BI and Power BI cloud services solution design experience
• 2+ years of experience with Power BI on Snowflake
• Advanced knowledge of Power Query and DAX
• Solid understanding of Kimball design methodology and data models
• Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps
• Experience with Power BI Direct Query, Import, and hybrid
• Experience with Power BI performance testing and tuning
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
