Job Overview: 

Graphcore is seeking a Junior Engineer, Power Engineering to aid in design, test, and development of the power delivery components from grid to chip. You will work closely with members of the Power Engineering team to ensure the infrastructure we build meets customer requirements as well as attaining standards of performance, reliability, and scalability. 

This role will be based in Milpitas, CA and will involve primarily on-site work in the power electronics laboratory.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform test and validation of the various components in the power chain from chip-to-grid.
  • Assemble, validate, and operate test hardware including the overall test environment, test fixtures, loads, and other devices to simulate various conditions and to evaluate the performance of the power chain.  Testing includes basic function testing, robustness and reliability testing, high-power cycle testing, high-bandwidth power testing, energy storage testing, and numerous other types of tests involved in AI power system validation.
  • Test and employ custom components that the Power Team may design to support the Graphcore power architecture. 
  • Support the transition of system designs from test and validation into the manufacturing and production environments

Required Skills and Experience : 

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, knowledge of Power Electronics desired.
  • Basic familiarity with power electronics systems operation 
  • Experience testing electronic systems
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment. 

"Nice to Have" Skills and Experience: 

  • Familiarity with new technologies in AI and data center infrastructure.
