Procurement Department

The Procurement team is responsible for securing the equipment Vantage’s data centers require to function. The team leads these efforts from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, New Site Development, and Engineering along the way. Procurement also works closely with vendor partners to come up with a vertically integrated design, and we manage these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget. Vantage is unique in that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. Our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.

Position Overview

This role can be remote or based in any of our US locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; or Ashburn, VA.

This role owns and executes the global category strategy for power infrastructure supporting large-scale energy and mission-critical data center deployments. Scope includes generation plants, substations, switching stations, transformers, high- and medium-voltage equipment, and emerging technologies such as energy storage, fuel cells, and nuclear solutions. The role ensures supply continuity, cost efficiency, and reliable execution across global programs.

The Director works closely with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Energy, and regional procurement teams to translate project demand into sourcing strategies, align infrastructure requirements with supplier capabilities, and manage risk across highly constrained supply markets. This role leads supplier qualification, long-term contracting, and performance management while driving total cost of ownership and lifecycle value improvements.

Essential Job Functions

  • Build and maintain global category strategy and multi-year sourcing roadmap for power infrastructure

  • Partner with engineering and project teams to translate demand into sourcing plans and capacity forecasts

  • Structure and negotiate long-term agreements, capacity reservations, and framework contracts

  • Lead supplier qualification, technical evaluations, audits, and approval processes

  • Define commercial contracting approaches including pricing models, escalation, warranties, and performance guarantees

  • Manage supplier performance through scorecards, QBRs, and corrective action programs

  • Identify and mitigate risks including supply constraints, geopolitical exposure, and technology obsolescence

  • Support project execution through expediting, testing coordination, logistics planning, and field service mobilization

  • Drive cost optimization through standardization, lifecycle service models, and benchmarking

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, technical standards, and procurement policies

  • Additional duties as assigned by Management

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field

  • 7+ years of experience in sourcing, category management, or procurement within power infrastructure or industrial projects

  • Strong experience with HV/MV equipment and substation infrastructure

  • Experience negotiating complex global agreements and managing supplier capacity

  • Knowledge of execution requirements including QA/QC, FAT/SAT, logistics, and installation support

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen including cost modeling and lifecycle cost analysis

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 20% but may increase over time as the business evolves

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $200,000-$250,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
