Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly technical and strategic Principal Engineering Lead to lead the engineering organization responsible for our Enterprise Applications portfolio. This individual will serve as the technical leader for a team supporting Salesforce, DealCloud, DevOps, and Quality Engineering while partnering closely with Product Specialists and Functional Architecture to deliver scalable, AI-enabled business solutions.

This is a hands-on player-coach role, not a traditional people management position. The successful candidate is expected to actively participate in architecture, solution design, proof-of-concepts, code reviews, and complex technical problem solving while leading and developing a high-performing engineering organization. Approximately 40–50% of the role will remain hands-on technical work, with the remainder focused on engineering leadership, mentoring, delivery, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you will do:

Engineering Leadership
  • Lead the Enterprise Applications engineering organization, including Salesforce Development, DevOps, and Quality Engineering.
  • Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on quality, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineers while fostering technical growth and career progression.
  • Participate in hiring, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Manage engineering capacity and resource allocation across concurrent initiatives, balancing strategic priorities, delivery commitments, and team bandwidth.
Hands-on Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the technical leader for the Enterprise Applications organization by actively contributing to solution architecture and engineering decisions.
  • Remain hands-on by participating in architecture reviews, design sessions, code reviews, proof-of-concepts, and complex technical implementations.
  • Partner with engineering teams to resolve the most challenging technical issues and remove delivery roadblocks.
  • Lead the technical direction and engineering best practices for Salesforce and DealCloud implementations, customizations, and platform extensions.
  • Champion AI-assisted software development, engineering automation, and modern development practices.
  • Set the technical standard for engineering quality and continuously raise the engineering maturity of the organization.
Technical Strategy
  • Define and execute the engineering strategy for the Enterprise Applications portfolio.
  • Establish engineering standards, architecture patterns, coding guidelines, and development best practices.
  • Lead technical design reviews and architectural decision-making.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies that improve platform capabilities, developer productivity, and long-term maintainability.
Solution Delivery
  • Partner with Product Specialists during discovery and solution design.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex initiatives and cross-functional programs.
  • Remove technical roadblocks and guide teams through critical implementation challenges.
  • Drive successful delivery of strategic initiatives across Salesforce, DealCloud, and the broader Enterprise Applications ecosystem.
Platform Operations & Production Support
  • Own the production support model across the Enterprise Applications platform.
  • Establish and continuously improve incident management, triage, escalation procedures, and service level objectives (SLAs).
  • Drive root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous improvement to reduce recurring production issues.
  • Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, observability, automation, and proactive platform health management.
Platform Modernization
  • Drive modernization of enterprise platforms and applications.
  • Champion AI-assisted software development, automation, and developer productivity.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve the technology landscape.
  • Lead proof-of-concepts and innovation initiatives.
  • Develop reusable frameworks and shared capabilities that accelerate delivery across the Enterprise Applications portfolio.
Engineering Excellence
  • Establish modern SDLC practices including CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, observability, and release management.
  • Improve engineering metrics, code quality, deployment frequency, and operational reliability.
  • Promote reusable frameworks, shared services, engineering standards, and technical governance across teams.

What you will need:

  • Lead through technical expertise, influence, and execution.
  • Be recognized as the senior technical leader within the Enterprise Applications organization.
  • Spend a meaningful portion of time solving technical problems rather than exclusively managing people.
  • Mentor engineers through active participation in architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Build engineering capability while remaining engaged in the delivery of the organization's most complex initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, automation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

What you will gain:

  • Delivery of scalable, high-quality business solutions.
  • Successful delivery and operational excellence across Salesforce and DealCloud platforms.
  • Increased engineering productivity through automation and AI.
  • High platform reliability and consistently meeting production support SLAs.
  • Effective balancing of engineering capacity across strategic initiatives.
  • Improved platform maintainability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Growth and engagement of the engineering organization.
  • Successful modernization of the Enterprise Applications landscape.
  • Strong partnership with Product Specialists and Functional Architecture.
  • Measurable business impact through technology innovation.
