Summary of Role:
The Staff R&D Finance Analyst is an experienced individual contributor responsible for supporting financial planning, business analysis, reporting, and operational initiatives across GlobalFoundries' R&D organization.
This role partners closely with R&D leadership, Finance, HR, and cross-functional business teams to provide financial insights, operational analysis, decision support, and process improvement recommendations that enable effective resource management and execution against organizational priorities.
The position plays a key role in driving financial transparency, improving business processes, developing analytics and reporting capabilities, and supporting strategic initiatives across the R&D organization.

Essential Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
•    Support annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, long-range planning activities, and financial reporting processes.
•    Analyze financial and operational performance against plan, identify key trends, and communicate insights to management.
•    Develop financial models, business cases, and analytical frameworks to support decision-making.
•    Partner with business leaders to evaluate opportunities, risks, and resource requirements.
•    Assist in preparation of management reviews, executive presentations, and business updates.
Business Operations & Analytics
•    Support operational planning, business reviews, and performance tracking activities.
•    Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to support organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.
•    Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools that improve business visibility and decision-making.
•    Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve operational and financial performance.
Reporting & Process Improvement
•    Prepare recurring management reports and business performance analyses.
•    Support development of scalable reporting and planning processes.
•    Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, automation, and data quality.
•    Participate in initiatives focused on enhancing forecasting, reporting, analytics, and operational effectiveness.
•    Support implementation of new tools, processes, and best practices.
Cross-Functional Partnership
•    Collaborate with Finance, R&D, HR, Operations, Business Units, and Corporate functions to support business objectives.
•    Translate complex financial and operational data into clear and actionable insights.
•    Support business reviews, ad hoc analyses, and strategic projects.
•    Build trusted relationships across stakeholder groups and contribute to informed decision-making.
Financial Governance & Operational Support
•    Support financial reporting, month-end close activities, and performance reviews as required.
•    Assist with planning assumptions, financial controls, and compliance with company policies and standards.
•    Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of assigned deliverables.
•    Contribute to organizational initiatives that strengthen operational discipline and business performance.

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. 

Required Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
•    3-5 years of experience in finance, FP&A, business operations, analytics, consulting, or related business functions.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
•    Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business analysis activities.
•    Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present insights to diverse audiences.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience supporting technology, engineering, manufacturing, R&D, or operations organizations.
•    Semiconductor industry experience is a plus.
•    Experience with planning, reporting, and visualization tools such as Anaplan, Power BI, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
•    Experience developing dashboards, management reporting, and business performance metrics.
•    Experience participating in process improvement, automation, or business transformation initiatives.
Individual Contributor Statement
This is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibilities. The successful candidate will be expected to independently manage analyses, reporting, projects, and cross-functional initiatives while partnering closely with business and finance stakeholders.
 

Expected Salary Range

$72,000.00 - $144,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
