Lead internal communications for the Research organization: build frameworks, governance, and templates; develop executive and employee communications; run engagement programs, change communications, and events; gather employee insights and measure communications effectiveness while partnering closely with senior leaders.
Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences, is looking for a “Principal Manager - Internal Communications” based out of South San Francisco, CA (Hybrid).
Rate: $90-$100/hr on W2 (DOE)
Job Duration: Long-Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension)

Summary:
In this role, you will be building foundational communications infrastructure and drive high impact employee and executive communications across the Research organization. The position combines strategic planning with hands on delivery and requires strong partnership with senior leaders.
Responsibilities:
• Build communication frameworks, governance, templates, and best practices.
• Develop communication strategies that clarify complex scientific/business priorities.
• Lead executive communications (messaging, narratives, town halls).
• Drive employee engagement programs, leadership forums, and high visibility events.
• Create communication plans supporting organizational priorities and milestones.
• Gather employee insights and translate them into actionable recommendations.
• Support change communications and organizational evolution.
• Introduce modern communication practices and measure effectiveness.
Required Qualifications:
• BA/BS and 10+ years in internal communications within complex, matrixed organizations.
• Experience supporting scientific, research, biotech, or pharma environments.
• Expertise in strategic communications, executive communications, and employee engagement.
• Strong project management and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels.
Preferred:
• Experience in change communications, consulting, or life sciences.
• Experience designing large scale employee engagement programs.
