This role
As a Principal Product Manager for Identity, you’ll lead the strategy and execution of how we verify, trust, and onboard our customers globally. This role demands a deep thinker who can bring order to complexity—someone who can connect technical, regulatory, and user experience dots to deliver secure, seamless identity solutions that scale.
We’re looking for a strong, end-to-end product manager—someone who thrives in ambiguity, learns fast, and has the judgment to prioritize what really matters. You don’t need to be an identity expert from day one, but you do need to be rigorous in your thinking, clear in your decisions, and effective at partnering with engineering, data science, and operations to turn ideas into outcomes. Experience with identity verification, fraud systems, or risk management is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead product strategy and execution for PayJoy’s identity systems — defining how we verify, trust, and onboard users securely across markets.
- Bring clarity to complexity by framing ambiguous problems, building structured roadmaps, and aligning teams around clear, measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, data science, design, risk, and operations to build scalable, reliable identity verification and fraud prevention capabilities.
- Deeply understand customer and market needs to design identity experiences that balance trust, compliance, and conversion.
- Translate abstract goals into actionable plans—defining success metrics, driving prioritization, and ensuring delivery quality at scale.
- Learn and adapt quickly, diving into new technologies, regulations, and ecosystems to inform decisions with rigor and data.
- Drive operational excellence, ensuring the right balance between risk management and user experience while supporting global expansion.
- Influence across levels, partnering with senior leadership to define strategy and champion identity as a core enabler of PayJoy’s mission.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives that span engineering, data, and operations.
- Strong generalist product management skills, with depth in strategy, execution, and stakeholder alignment. Systems-level thinker who can connect customer needs, business goals, and technical architecture into a coherent roadmap.
- Analytical and data-driven — able to define success metrics, interpret data, and use insights to guide decisions.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of influencing across senior stakeholders and diverse teams.
- Comfortable in high-ambiguity, high-growth environments where priorities evolve rapidly and judgment matters more than playbooks.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with identity verification, risk management, or trust systems is a plus, but not required — curiosity and the ability to learn fast are essential.
Benefits
- 100% Company-funded health insurance for employee and immediate family
- Company-funded employee life and disability insurance
- 20 Paid vacation days, Flexible sick leave
- $2,000 USD annual Co-working Travel perk
- $2,000 USD annual Professional Development perk
- Headphone benefit, home office equipment allowance and wellness perks
- $340 Company-funded Commuter benefit
- Catered lunches
