The Role

SoFi is looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead our Originations Core platform within the Borrow business unit. In this role, you will define and drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the systems and experiences that power how members discover, apply for, and manage loans across SoFi.

You will operate at the center of our lending ecosystem, owning both foundational platform capabilities and critical member-facing experiences. This includes the Borrow experience across web and mobile, reusable UI systems, entry points into the application funnel, and core originations infrastructure such as application data models and credit decisioning.

This role requires a product leader who can think holistically across systems, teams, and user journeys. You will partner closely with multiple product teams, engineering squads, and business stakeholders to drive alignment, scale platform capabilities, and deliver measurable improvements to conversion, efficiency, and member experience.

What you’ll do

  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for Originations Core, spanning platform capabilities and member-facing experiences
  • Own and evolve the Borrow experience across web and mobile, including application entry points, flows, and supporting UI systems
  • Lead the development of reusable UI components and shared capabilities that enable consistency and velocity across multiple product teams
  • Drive strategy and execution for core originations infrastructure, including application data models and credit decisioning systems
  • Act as the central product partner for cross-functional domains such as servicing, collections, and settlements, ensuring seamless end-to-end member journeys
  • Partner with multiple PMs and engineering teams to align roadmaps, manage dependencies, and drive cohesive product outcomes across the Borrow ecosystem
  • Identify and lead high-impact technical initiatives, building alignment and buy-in across teams to execute against a broader platform roadmap
  • Define success metrics and use data to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and guide prioritization
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform investments, making thoughtful trade-offs to support scalability, reliability, and business growth
  • Communicate product strategy, progress, and insights effectively to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of product management experience, ideally in fintech, lending, or platform-focused roles
  • Proven track record of owning complex product areas or platforms and delivering measurable business impact
  • Experience defining product strategy and driving execution across multiple teams or squads
  • Strong systems thinking, with the ability to connect user experiences, platform capabilities, and business outcomes
  • Experience working on technically complex systems, with the ability to partner deeply with engineering on architecture and trade-offs
  • Data-driven mindset with experience defining metrics, running experiments, and using insights to inform decisions
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing across teams and presenting to senior leadership
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy in ambiguous, fast-paced environments

Nice to have

  • Experience with lending or financial services products, particularly originations or underwriting flows
  • Familiarity with credit decisioning systems or risk models
  • Experience building platform capabilities or shared infrastructure used across multiple teams
  • Experience optimizing application funnels, conversion, and user flows
  • Background working with servicing, collections, or post-origination systems
  • Experience driving large-scale technical initiatives requiring cross-team alignment
