Principal Production Operations / Sr. Principal Production Operations
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Production Operations Management / Sr. Principal Production Operations Management based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
What you will get to do:
Lead and direct one or more project teams in the professional services arena.
Prepare project execution plans and coordinate activities between client and company personnel.
Monitor project completion from initiation through delivery to meet revenue and cost projections.
Oversee performance of projects or engagements and typically utilizes management skills more than technical skills.
Provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams.
Working as an Operations Program Manager and with manufacturing operations functional management, you will be part of the team responsible for execution of the manufacturing scope of a multimillion-dollar naval propulsion and power generation program.
You will help guide and lead the manufacturing team by ensuring manufacturing issues and roadblocks are resolved quickly, and that the advance development program perform on time and on budget.
You will be a key point of contact within manufacturing for the program.
Responsibilities include the following:
Work alongside our dedicated Operations Support Teams to focus operational excellence and effective risk management.
Resolve manufacturing issues by working with cross-functional teams.
Coordinate responses with functional organizations to keep projects on schedule.
Propose, plan/baseline, and execute to the performance management baseline.
Perform risk and opportunity management functions for the manufacturing scope in concert with the overall program (RSKOM).
Perform EVMS and cost account management functions.
Resolve material, manpower, and machine issues to ensure successful manufacturing performance.
This position can be filled at a Principal or Senior Principal Production level.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Production Operations:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; OR a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree (Note: An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Program and/or Project Management.
Experience using ERP systems.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Production Operations:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience; OR a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree (Note: An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Program and/or Project Management.
Experience using ERP systems.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications for a Principal / Sr. Principal OPM:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working on government contracts.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Earned Value Management (EVM).
Experience with manufacturing production proposals.
Experience managing hardware production activity.
Experience with SAP in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
PMP certification.
