The role

Performance Management is one of the most important ways SoFi reinforces its culture, develops talent, and drives business results. We're looking for a Principal Program Manager to own the strategy, design, and evolution of SoFi's enterprise Performance Management programs. This role will serve as the company's subject matter expert and thought partner for performance management, partnering closely with senior People leaders to ensure our programs enable a high-performing, growth-oriented culture. This is more than program management; you'll continuously improve the employee and manager experience, influence enterprise talent strategy, and ensure our performance programs evolve alongside the needs of the business. This role will shape how employees receive feedback, grow their careers, and contribute to the company's success—ensuring our approach to performance continues to evolve alongside the business and reinforces the high-performance culture that defines SoFi.

What you'll do

Own Enterprise Performance Management

  • Lead the strategy, design, governance, and execution of SoFi's enterprise performance management programs, including annual employee performance, executive performance, and semi-annual scorecard processes.
  • Establish a long-term roadmap that evolves how SoFi sets goals, delivers feedback, evaluates performance, and recognizes results.
  • Ensure performance programs reinforce accountability, development, differentiation, and business performance.

Improve the Employee and Manager Experience

  • Continuously evaluate program effectiveness using employee feedback, operational metrics, and business insights.
  • Design improvements that simplify processes, strengthen manager capability, and improve adoption across the organization.
  • Guide the broader Talent Development team to develop manager enablement resources that improve the quality and consistency of performance conversations.

Partner Across the Enterprise

  • Serve as the strategic partner for HR Business Partners, Compensation, HR Technology, Internal Communications, and senior business leaders.
  • Influence cross-functional decisions that improve the effectiveness of enterprise talent programs.
  • Partner closely with Talent Development to ensure performance management integrates with manager development, career growth, and learning strategies.

Lead Through Influence

  • Drive enterprise initiatives without direct people management responsibility.
  • Coach stakeholders, build alignment, and influence senior leaders across the organization.
  • Stay current on external trends and bring innovative thinking to how SoFi approaches performance and talent management.

What you'll need

  • 10+ years of experience in Performance Management, Talent Management, Organizational Development, HR Consulting, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success designing and leading enterprise performance management programs in a complex organization.
  • Strong expertise in organizational effectiveness, change management, and talent strategy.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives with executive stakeholders.
  • Exceptional consulting, communication, facilitation, and influence skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data and insights to improve program outcomes.
  • Experience partnering with Compensation, HR Technology, and HR Business Partners to deliver enterprise talent solutions.
