Principal SoC Architect

We are Aptiv - a global technology company with 190,000 specialists in 46 countries. We develop innovative software and build the hardware to bring autonomous driving cars, advanced driver-assistance systems, connected vehicles and smart cities to life in a way that only we can. We work in partnership with almost all car manufacturers. Our sensors, systems and software can already be found in almost all passenger cars today.

With our deep domain expertise, Aptiv is developing solutions that solve our customers' toughest challenges. We are enabling the transition to software-defined vehicles supported by electrified and intelligently connected architectures – which will combine to power the future of mobility.

Aptiv’s custom silicon management group provides critical custom Silicon for all Aptiv products including Autonomous Driving, ADAS, Infotainment, Zonal Control, and others. This team translates the system requirements of Aptiv’s next-generation products into the SOC/IC requirements and architectural design, then manages the technical performance of external SOC/IC design partners who design the custom silicon SOCs/ICs for use in Aptiv’s products.

We are looking for SoC architects to work closely with multiple engineering teams who are focused on the development of Aptiv’s future generation of products.

In This Role, You'll

  • Lead a team of 3-5 highly experienced semiconductor engineers
  • Work with the platform Architects to create SoC architecture specification.
  • Work with OS/SW/AI Algorithms team to define SoC & IP features.
  • Work with OS/SW teams to define memory, IO features.
  • Work with internal as well as 3rd party IP providers to drive the SoC architecture.
  • Comprehend SoC use cases and compare all the IPs for PPA, features and drive IP selection.
  • Work with SoC micro architects for IP integration definitions, HW/SW interfaces, programming models
  • Determine power, performance and area tradeoffs as well as how data and control flows interact.
  • Determine electrical and thermal considerations at the chip, package and system levels.
  • Coordinate and track key deliverables and issues with Aptiv’s internal and 3rd party IP partners.
  • Perform design, verification reviews via coverage matrix to make sure all the use cases are fully verified.
  • Create acceptance criteria for synthesis, STA, verification, validation and test coverage aspects.
  • Work with our design partners and support them through the execution of the SoC to ensure first-pass silicon success.
