The Process Design Manager analyzes fulfillment processes, implements optimization strategies using lean methodologies, collaborates with teams, establishes KPIs, conducts analysis on failures, drives improvements, and provides training on processes.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze and map existing fulfillment processes (receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping) to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for standardization.
Develop and implement process optimization strategies leveraging lean methodologies (e.g. kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping) to drive efficiency gains.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate new processes or technologies that enhance productivity and cost savings.
Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure process performance, throughput rates, quality, and cost.
Conduct root cause analysis on process failures and quality issues to determine corrective and preventive actions.
Drive continuous improvement efforts through regular kaizen events and process audits.
Provide training to operations staff on new processes and lean process improvement techniques.
Track and report on cost savings, efficiency gains, and other process improvement metrics.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
6+ years of process engineering experience within an e-commerce fulfillment/distribution environment.
Strong expertise in lean manufacturing principles, kaizen events, and process mapping.
Project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Experience with process simulation/modeling and statistical analysis tools.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and material handling automation
Excellent communication and training abilities.
Data-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, PMI, or related disciplines are a strong plus.
