Process Engineering Intern, Summer 2025


Under the guidance of our seasoned engineers, you'll play a vital role in advancing our flexible circuit manufacturing technology. From running experiments to implementing cost-saving measures, you'll be at the forefront of driving process improvements.

Your day-to-day will involve taking measurements, analyzing data, and presenting insights to shape our manufacturing processes. With a systematic approach blending chemistry, engineering, and materials science, you'll tackle challenges head-on and contribute to our mission of excellence.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of CelLink’s flexible circuit manufacturing technology.
  •  Run experiments and line trials to implement improvements in cost, yield, or process performance.
  • Take measurements of key materials and/or device properties; record, analyze, and present data reports.
  • Systematically apply knowledge of chemistry, engineering, physics, and materials to identify and solve problems.
  • Assist with documentation of procedures and job instructions; assist in training of operations staff.
  • Work hands-on with manufacturing equipment.
  • Work closely with Process Engineers, Quality Engineers, and manufacturing personnel to meet quality standards and make improvements to our products.

  • Support Process Engineers in the transition of prototypes into high-volume products, including manufacturing file creation, hands-on assembly, and build data analysis.
  • Work hands-on with high-volume manufacturing and R&D tools.
  • Support the development of scalable, robust processes for manufacturing flexible circuits.
  • Work with Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, and Production staff to ensure work instructions and procedures are accurate and representative of the current best-known methods.
  • Live the company culture of integrity, teamwork, self-discipline, and professional competence.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Educational Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time academic program at an accredited college or university.
  • B.S. in Materials Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Experience:

  • Hands-on experience working in an R&D lab, including operating and maintaining metrology equipment.
  • Hands-on experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, including operating production tools.
  • Experience with JMP, Minitab, Python, and related software is a strong plus.

Working Conditions/Hours/Location

This role is an hourly position, and the intern will be required to work 40 hours per week during the summer. The start date and duration of the internship are flexible depending on availability, with a minimum commitment of 10 weeks.

Internship will take place onsite in San Carlos, CA

Physical Demands – Office and Manufacturing Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and pull/push; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment –

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines.

PPE-

May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures.
