ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Regional Procurement Director to own procurement across our AMER portfolio. You will report directly to the VP, Vendor Procurement, lead the region's Category Management team, and hold the dotted line into project procurement leads embedded in our Integrated Project Teams. This is a first-of-fleet role for the region: you will support development of and implement Volta's global sourcing standards, policy and end-to-end procurement process.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the AMER Category Management team, directing category strategy execution across the region's key spend categories, including but not limited to, long-lead equipment, MEP, whitespace, modular and prefabrication packages and required/associated consultant and services.

  • Lead Category Management team to develop the Preferred Supply partners and lead the Supplier relationships management in region

  • Implement Volta's global sourcing standards, procurement policy and end-to-end procurement process within the region, routing any proposed exception through the VP, Vendor Procurement

  • Own the procurement plan for every active project in the AMER portfolio, aligned to each project's work package structure and delivery sequence

  • Track and secure long-lead equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, chillers and cooling infrastructure against project schedules, flagging schedule-critical risk early

  • Lead negotiation of regional supply and framework agreements, working closely with Procurement Legal Counsel

  • Hold the dotted line into project procurement leads embedded in AMER Integrated Project Teams, owning their standards, quality of output and career development while day-to-day direction stays with the project

  • Partner with the Regional Delivery Manager, Project Delivery Managers and Project Controls teams to keep procurement sequencing aligned with project stage gates

  • Provide regional vendor spend, risk and commitment visibility to the VP, Vendor Procurement and to Global Delivery portfolio reporting

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • A track record of 10 or more years in procurement across data center, energy or large-scale infrastructure construction

  • Direct experience across North American supply chains and vendor markets

  • Experience leading a category management team, setting and enforcing sourcing discipline across category managers

  • A track record negotiating master and framework agreements and managing OEM relationships for long-lead, capital-intensive equipment

  • Experience operating inside a matrix delivery organization, balancing functional standards against project-level delivery pressure

  • Comfortable working alongside legal counsel on complex commercial and contractual terms

  • Clear reporting and communication with senior stakeholders

  • Positive and collaborative approach to build something with a new team
