About this Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Product Designer to join the Kira team. This is an opportunity to become part of a small product team within a high-growth, high-impact company tackling the $32 billion education LMS space. You’ll iterate on features throughout the entire product lifecycle, from strategic discovery to high-fidelity prototypes. This person will serve as a strong advocate for users and set a high bar for crafting intuitive, accessible, and beautiful experiences. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and ensure clear communication and alignment across the team.The ideal candidate is self-motivated, passionate about education and start-up life, and enthusiastic about AI. This person must be swift and nimble enough to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and they must have impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and ship high-quality products and improvements, from early concepts to high-fidelity prototypes and visuals
- Identify and understand our user types, their behaviors and the pain points of their user journeys
- Partner with product, engineering, and content in a highly collaborative, ego-free environment
- Contribute to and evolve our design system
- Evangelize UX/UI best practices and processes, helping maintain a high bar of standards
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience with a proven track record of building beautiful UI/UX and understanding customer’s needs
- A portfolio showcasing strong UX, UI, and interaction design skills, with a high bar for quality and craft
- A passion for turning complex problems into elegant and engaging user experiences
- Outstanding product design sensibility and craft – excelling at UX, visual design and interaction
- Self-motivated, and confident in independently leading end-to-end design work – creating concepts, defining requirements, documenting and assessing post-launch learnings
- Experience designing inclusively (ex. international, multi-language, accessible use cases)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills: you can clearly and concisely communicate with a diverse group of peers across time zones
- Nimble and adaptable. Can roll with the punches and thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment
- A positive, can-do attitude. You’re not deterred by minor setbacks and are able to swiftly overcome ambiguity
