Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Product Engineer is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of product data across company systems. Serving as the subject matter expert for engineering documentation, item master management, and ERP product data, this role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timely execution of all product-related information and processes. This position plays a critical role in engineering operations by ensuring seamless communication across all departments.

Preferred Qualifications

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the new part setup process by creating and maintaining the bill of materials (BOMs), developing manufacturing and quality specifications, establishing control plans and process flow documentation, coordinating lab testing, and supporting other product launch activities.
  • Analyze product data requirements and independently manage the creation, revision, and maintenance of ERP records, routings, and product structures. Ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness by maintaining accurate, consistent, and complete product information across all enterprise systems.
  • Evaluate engineering change requests involving material, design, or process modifications requiring customer approval. Assess operational impacts and coordinate implementation activities across functional areas.
  • Prepare quotations for new business opportunities by identifying materials and manufacturing processes, performing cost analysis, and evaluation production feasibility.
  • Support manufacturing with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for customer complaints. Own and drive all product design related actions.
  • Verify compliance with customer drawings, engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Lead cross functional design reviews and customer engagement to evaluate requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure successful product execution.
  • Any other tasks assigned to support business needs.

 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret and understand technical requirements.
  • Competence with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, or others) a plus.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving product data and documentation issues.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, product data management, or related role.
  • Previous role requiring regular customer interaction.
