About the company
Our client is an energy services company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own engineering work from early scoping through release and ongoing refinement, spanning client-side and server-side code and replacing routine manual steps with automation. The position suits someone comfortable across interfaces and services who enjoys collaborating closely with colleagues on a small, flat team.
What you'll do
- Replace hand-run steps in a live application with automated processes.
- Build autonomous AI components that review complex data and surface potential exposures.
- Ship both user-facing screens and internal utilities across the client and server layers.
- Investigate applicable rules and standards, and feed user input back into product changes.
- Work with teams across the company, since much of what you build is used internally.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 3 or more years of experience as an engineer.
- Experience at a company with a live product used by real customers, at any size.
- Full-stack experience, with features shipped across both frontend and backend work in the same role.
- A track record of carrying an idea from scoping through live release, then refining it based on how people actually use it.
- A problem-first approach that focuses on the issue before choosing a solution.
- Strong written and verbal communication, a low-ego attitude and intellectual honesty.
Bonus points
- Experience at both an early-stage startup and a mid-to-large company.
- Background at a university with a strong reputation.
- Customer-facing or engineering work where customer problems were turned into product improvements.
- Familiarity with multi-step automated AI pipelines, scheduled task runners or model evaluation harnesses.
- Experience with GIS systems and geospatial data pipelines.
