Lead Runway's self-serve business end-to-end: own ARR and funnel metrics, set strategy and portfolio of bets, run high-velocity experiments, ship hands-on, grow the PM/growth team, and launch new self-serve segments.
The summary above was generated by AI

We are building AI to simulate the world through merging art and science.
We believe that world models are at the frontier of progress in artificial intelligence. Language models alone won’t solve the world’s hardest problems – robotics, disease, scientific discovery. Real progress requires models that experience the world and learn from their mistakes, the same way that humans do. And this kind of trial and error can be massively accelerated when done in simulation, rather than in the real world.
World models offer the most clear path to general-purpose simulation, changing how stories are told, how scientific progress is made and how the next frontiers of humanity are reached.

Our team consists of creative, open minded, caring and ambitious people who are determined to change the world. We aspire to continuously build impossible things and our ability to do so relies on building an incredible team. If you are driven to do the same, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

*Preferable to have someone near an office in NYC or San Francisco, but open to hiring around the world for the right candidate.

Runway's self-serve product is the company's core engine and the front door to our brand. Millions of creators — filmmakers, designers, marketers, and small studios — come to Runway to generate and edit the most ambitious creative work being made today. As generative tools move from novelty to daily workflow, the opportunity in front of us is enormous: deepen what creators can do, win new professional audiences, and turn a fast-growing product into a compounding business through world-class product and growth craft.

We're hiring a Product Lead to own the Self-Serve business end-to-end. You'll own the self serve revenue number, create the strategy, prioritize the portfolio of bets, and serve as the single front door for this business across the company. You'll start deeply hands-on as the primary PM, and grow a strong growth-oriented team as the business scales.

What you’ll do
  • Own the self serve business. Carry the revenue North Star for self-serve (ARR), and the full funnel of self serve usage and growth.

  • Create and drive the strategy. Articulate the right-to-win thesis for self-serve and the portfolio of bets that backs it. Co-develop strategy with leadership and partners, then make clear, ambitious calls on where to invest and what to cut.

  • Drive high velocity experimentation. Run a high-velocity experimentation engine: many shots on goal, fast reads, faster learning. Experiments ship every day at Runway across pricing and packaging, lifecycle and growth loops, mobile growth, and agent-driven personalization flows.

  • Create new business segment. Identify opportunities to acquire and grow new segments of the business through self serve motions. Launch experiments to test and validate new 0>1 offerings.

  • Ship, hands-on. Talk to users every week, ship your own experiment PRs, and partner tightly with engineering, design, PMM, and growth marketing to create a continuious cycle of learning and improvements. You'll be in the details daily.

  • Build the team. Start as the primary IC DRI and hire PMs underneath you as the business grows, raising the bar on outcome orientation as you scale.

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years in product management, including experiments in a consumer or prosumer self-serve business at meaningful scale. A track record of moving revenue and growth metrics, not just shipping features.

  • A GM mindset. You think in terms of the business, not just the roadmap. You're fluent in the economics of a subscription and consumption model, comfortable owning a P&L-style number, and you instinctively tie every bet to a hypothesis about how it moves the business.

  • Deep growth and monetization craft. Hands-on experience with pricing/packaging, conversion and retention optimization, lifecycle marketing, and high-velocity A/B experimentation. You know what good looks like and you've personally driven the loop.

  • Strong product taste and customer obsession. You must earn the trust of a discerning, taste-driven user base. Experience with creative, design, or content-creation tools is a plus.

  • Comfort with rapid pace and high accountability culture. You move very fast, make decisions with incomplete information, and instinctively gravitate towards shipping experiments today, not writing docs for tomorrow.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication. You can make a sharp, written argument and tell a compelling launch story. You confidently assess the state of the business, call out challenges and articulate your plans to solve them.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
