Jupiter is rapidly expanding its ability to assess the vulnerability of and quantify the risks to assets from environmental hazards, including flood, wind, heat, hail, wildfire, and drought. This role requires a self-starting individual contributor who will be responsible for developing approaches for quantifying damage and loss, building, and testing adaptation strategies and economic impacts. You will be assessing these for their applicability and refining them to match customer requirements and product needs, while working closely and collaborating with our science, software, sales, and marketing teams to build and deploy impactful products.
What You Will Do
- Define the product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap for Jupiter’s vulnerability and adaptations offerings, aligning with Jupiter’s mission and market demand.
- Set strategic goals along the roadmap and prioritize features based on customer value and business impact.
- Conduct competitive analysis, monitor market trends, gather customer feedback, and analyze product usage to identify opportunities for product and feature improvement.
- Generate product requirements that can guide agile development of products.
- Drive the technical feasibility assessment for new product ideas. Manage and track the progress of R&D prototypes and proofs-of-concept (POCs), including identification and mitigation of technical and scientific risks, and integrate product delivery into the product roadmap.
- Identify and vet existing sources for damage functions and loss models as well as datasets for validation, including paid, open-source, and government datasets. Locate, curate, and maintain internal and third-party datasets.
- Develop adaptation strategies along with data-driven insights and quantitative justification. Quantify effectiveness of resilience measures against projected losses.
- Collaborate with academics, public and private coalitions, and engineering firms to build new ways to quantify the impact of environmental hazards on a portfolio of assets.
- Work with Sales and Marketing to prepare product launch materials, including internal documentation, training for sales and marketing teams, and release notes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert internally and externally.
What You Bring
- 3+ years’ experience in a relevant technical field with demonstrated experience in risk assessment, structural engineering for adaptation, urban planning for resilience, or catastrophe modeling.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or environmental field such as urban planning, civil engineering, environmental science or engineering, environmental economics or data science, geoscience, or other relevant field.
- Product management experience in any of the following is a plus:
- o B2B SaaS-based solutions (web and API)
- o FinTech and Risk Management industries
- o Data analysis and visualization tools
Things That Make you Stand Out
