Product Manager — Cooperative Technologies

About Cooperative Technologies

Cooperative Technologies (“CT”) is the only company in the US that provides ceding carrier data for annuity and life insurance exchanges, making the platform the de facto standard for replacement processing. The market for US annuity sales is projected to double to ~$900B by 2030 with CT at the center of that growth.

CT is at an inflection point and looking for future leaders to champion the next phase of growth for the organizations. The company is now searching for a PM who can both drive the technical vision for the company, AI roadmap, and write the code to ship its product. Working in an entrepreneurial fully remote environment, the hired candidate will have high visibility and autonomy.

OTE Compensation: 140k to 180k USD

What You'll Actually Do

  • Own the 1035YellowPages product roadmap, identify what clients need, and how to ship it for deployment.
  • Write specs and build them: design and code product enhancements in C#/.NET, including database objects, ASP.NET Web Forms, and WCF web services.
  • Debug, triage, and resolve defects and performance issues across the stack
  • Coordinate new client onboarding and provide direct technical support for the service.
  • Generating 30%+ of your code output using AI-assisted development tools and using them thoughtfully to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality.
  • Becoming a subject-matter expert at a portfolio company development stack within 6 months, so you can independently deliver work in those environments using AI.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of combined experience spanning software development, product management, and client communication.
  • Programming Proficiency: C#, .NET Framework / .NET, VB.NET, JavaScript, SQL, VB 6
  • Windows Development and Database Technologies: Windows Forms (WinForms), ASP.NET Web Forms, WCF Web Services, Windows Services. HTML, CSS, Database Technologies, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL
  • Experience managing SaaS or web service products through their full lifecycle, from roadmap to release.
  • Proven track record coordinating product releases and client migrations in a small-team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interface directly with enterprise clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of the life insurance or financial services industry, particularly annuity exchange workflows.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, REST APIs, or ASP.NET MVC.
  • Familiarity with legacy migration projects — specifically managing a system through end-of-life.
  • Prior use of FogBugz or similar issue-tracking tools in a product management workflow.

What Success Looks Like — First 90 Days

  • At least one enhancement or defect fix shipped to production independently.
  • Direct relationships established with existing web service clients, with a clear understanding of their support escalation paths.
  • Working command of the CT1035 Replacement System sufficient to support remaining clients through the end-of-life plan.

Who You'll Work With

You'll report to CT's executive leadership and collaborate with the sales, marketing, and data verification teams. On any given day, you might be writing code in the morning, resolving a client support issue at noon, and presenting roadmap priorities to leadership in the afternoon. CT's team is small and this role has real influence over what gets built and when.

What We Offer

  • Full ownership of a revenue-generating product in a specialized vertical, not a supporting role on a larger platform team.
  • Mentorship from a retiring technical team handing over the reins to a new generation.
  • Genuine breadth in a generalist role that spans strategy, product development, and client-facing work that most PM roles silo separately.
  • Exposure to the Solen Software Group portfolio company network and operating model.
