Job Summary

PayJoy Lock is the core moat of PayJoy's business, a proprietary security stack running across the world's largest emerging market device fleet.

As PM for Lock Platform, you will own the programs that keep that moat strong and expanding. You will combine deep technical fluency with strategic clarity to drive lock security, reliability, and device compatibility programs across multiple markets.

This is a key Individual Contributor role reporting to the Lock Platform Lead. You will work alongside a team of engineers helping to increase PayJoy's lock strength, expand device selection, and reduce fraud and accidental locking across multiple emerging markets.

This role is based in our San Francisco office. We are an in-person team and expect this role to be in office

Key ResponsibilitiesExecution & Delivery

  • Own end-to-end delivery of lock platform initiatives — from problem definition through launch, post-launch iteration, and ongoing operational ownership.

  • Drive lock security initiatives including OTA enforcement, device vulnerability reduction, and the systems that give leadership real-time visibility into platform health.

  • Lead the lock reliability program — own the framework that prevents accidental locking incidents and ensures policy compliance across every new feature shipped.

  • Own device compatibility programs — track where PayJoy has gaps, launch new locking technology to close them, and ensure every device PayJoy finances meets the security bar.

  • Support new market and country launches — own the lock readiness checklist and ensure no new market goes live without meeting the bar.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Manage cross-functional execution with engineering, GTM, legal, OEM partners, and field teams — with proactive communication and clear ownership of timelines and deliverables.

  • Represent the lock platform in cross-functional forums

  • Review and synthesize competitive intelligence from field analysts and in-market research to inform roadmap decisions.

  • Communicate progress proactively to leadership — status, risks, and decisions surface.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years as a Product Manager with a track record of owning technically complex programs end-to-end — PRD through launch through post-launch iteration — without hand-holding.

  • Technical fluency on Android or mobile platforms — able to engage directly with engineers on implementation details, debug issues, and make informed tradeoff decisions.

  • Independently frames problems, proposes solutions with explicit tradeoffs, leads cross-functional execution, and surfaces risk proactively without being asked.

  • Experience in mobile security, device management, OEM ecosystems, or adjacent technically complex domains.

  • Strong analytical ability — can query data independently, build metrics frameworks, and own product health visibility..

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Android lock mechanisms, Knox, or device enrollment technologies.

  • Familiarity with OTA update processes and OEM certification workflows.

  • Experience launching products in or for emerging markets (LATAM, SEA, Africa).

  • Hybrid PM/engineer background — comfortable reading code, reviewing PRs, contributing to technical specifications.

  • SQL fluency or equivalent ability to self-serve product insights from data.

  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.
