About the company

Braintrust is the AI observability platform. By connecting evals and observability in one workflow, Braintrust gives builders the visibility to understand how AI behaves in production and the tools to improve it.

Teams at Notion, Stripe, and Vercel use Braintrust to compare models, test prompts, and catch regressions — turning production data into better AI with every release.

As Braintrust customers build increasingly sophisticated AI products and agents, they need infrastructure to understand, evaluate, and improve behavior over time. Braintrust provides the observability, evals, and optimization platform that powers some of the most advanced AI teams in the world.

We’re looking for a Product Manager to own self-serve and product-led growth business. This person will be responsible for making Braintrust easy to discover, adopt, activate, and expand without requiring human intervention. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, growth, design, engineering, and data to help more teams experience value from Braintrust faster.

What you’ll do
  • Own the end-to-end self-serve experience, from first visit through activation, retention, and expansion

  • Develop a deep understanding of successful Braintrust teams by working directly with Pro customers, identifying the behaviors, workflows, and product usage patterns that correlate with long-term retention and expansion

  • Conduct regular interviews with churned, downgraded, and at-risk customers to understand why they leave and where the product falls short

  • Improve onboarding, setup, experimentation, and collaboration workflows to reduce time-to-value

  • Build systems that help users discover new capabilities and adopt additional products over time

  • Develop instrumentation, funnels, and experiments to understand user behavior and drive improvements

  • Partner closely with engineering and design to ship high-quality experiences quickly, with marketing to align acquisition, onboarding, lifecycle, and conversion experiences, and with sales and customer success to ensure a seamless transition between self-serve and enterprise motions

  • Translate customer insights into product improvements, onboarding experiences, and growth initiatives that increase long-term customer success

  • Own key metrics including activation, retention, conversion, expansion, churn, and product-qualified pipeline

What we’re looking for
  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in developer tools, infrastructure, SaaS, or AI products

  • Strong product intuition combined with a highly analytical mindset

  • Experience owning growth, onboarding, activation, monetization, or self-serve experiences

  • Comfortable diving into data, running experiments, and making decisions from imperfect information

  • Strong understanding of product-led growth principles and business models

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work directly with designers and engineers to drive execution

  • Deep empathy for developers and technical users

Bonus points
  • Experience building products for AI developers

  • Experience with pricing, packaging, and monetization

  • Familiarity with developer workflows, APIs, SDKs, and open source communities, or an engineering background

  • Experience building growth loops and referral systems

  • Startup experience in a high-growth environment

Success in this role

Within your first year, you will:

  • Increase activation, retention, and expansion across our self-serve business

  • Build a repeatable understanding of why customers succeed, expand, and churn—and use those insights to shape the product roadmap

  • Create scalable growth and retention loops that compound over time

  • Help establish Braintrust as the default platform for teams building AI products and agents

Braintrust is building the infrastructure layer for AI development. If you’re excited about product-led growth, developer tools, and helping shape how the next generation of software gets built, we’d love to talk.

Benefits include
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Daily lunch, snacks, and beverages

  • Flexible time off

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • AI Stipend

Equal opportunity

Braintrust is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
