About Niantic Spatial

At Niantic Spatial, we're building the future of physical AI. Powered by a proprietary database of over 30 billion posed images, our groundbreaking mapping technology unlocks a new dimension of interaction and spatial intelligence that helps both humans and machines better understand, represent, navigate, and engage with the real environment.

Our reconstruction technology captures environments with geometric accuracy and extreme detail from any standard camera, and our Visual Positioning System delivers precise positioning almost anywhere in the world. We serve customers across robotics, the public sector, and energy and industrial markets — building for the 80% of economic activity that takes place beyond our screens.

About the Role

As Senior Product Manager for Reconstruction, you will work at the intersection of 3D reconstruction research and real-world product impact – shaping how Niantic Spatial captures, reconstructs, and delivers photorealistic spatial data at global scale. You will own the end-to-end product vision and roadmap for our 3D reconstruction portfolio, translating deep technical expertise into enterprise-grade solutions that serve customers in robotics, oil and gas, and the public sector.

This role sits at the center of our most technically ambitious work. You will partner directly with engineering, research, design, and go-to-market teams, driving product decisions that span data ingestion, 3D asset processing, real-time rendering, and customer-facing tooling. The right person combines genuine hands-on knowledge of the 3D reconstruction stack with the customer empathy and cross-functional leadership to bring that capability to market.

What You'll Do

  • Vision & Roadmap – Develop and maintain a bold, technically grounded vision and roadmap for Niantic Spatial's 3D reconstruction portfolio – aligning go-to-market, engineering, design, and research teams around a coherent strategy and sequenced priorities.

  • Product Ownership – Own product requirements across the full reconstruction pipeline: data ingestion, processing of 3D assets (meshes and Gaussian splats), asset serving, client-side rendering, and inspection and quality tooling.

  • Enterprise Delivery – Develop, iterate, and ship end-to-end solutions for enterprise customers across robotics, oil and gas, and the public sector, driving requirements from discovery through launch and ongoing iteration.

  • Metrics & Impact – Define and track the metrics that measure product success and customer impact; use data to prioritize investments, surface gaps, and demonstrate value to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Landscape Intelligence – Stay deeply embedded in the academic and commercial 3D reconstruction landscape, tracking advancements in neural representations, rendering, and capture hardware to inform product strategy and maintain Niantic Spatial's technical edge.

What You'll Bring

  • 6+ years of product management experience, with a meaningful portion in B2B or enterprise settings working on technically complex products.

  • Hands-on expertise in 3D Gaussian splatting, mesh reconstruction, and/or neural radiance fields – including capture methods, sensor types, data processing pipelines, and rendering.

  • Strong understanding of the full reconstruction stack: capture devices, photogrammetry, SfM, SLAM, dense reconstruction, and real-time rendering.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear product specifications and drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, research, and commercial teams.

  • Customer obsession – a track record of engaging enterprise customers directly, understanding their requirements deeply, and building products that deliver measurable value.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to both deeply technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with multi-sensor data (RGB, depth, LiDAR, IMU) and the tradeoffs between capture modalities

  • Experience with compression, streaming, and level-of-detail (LOD) techniques for large-scale 3D assets

  • Publications or open-source contributions in 3D vision, computer graphics, or neural rendering

  • Prior experience in or exposure to robotics, geospatial, public sector, or industrial markets

  • Familiarity with agentic development workflows

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this role is $190,000 –$215,000 per year. Compensation also includes an annual bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), and more.

Location & Work Model

This role is based in our San Francisco, CA office on a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

Inclusive Application

We know the strongest candidates don't always tick every box. If you're excited about this role and believe you could do it well, we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every qualification listed — you may be exactly who we're looking for.
