The Role

Proofpoint is hiring a Product Marketing Director for Alliances & Strategic Partnerships to own the strategy, activation, and GTM impact of our key technology and ecosystem partnerships. This is a senior individual contributor within the Product Marketing organization, reporting to the Sr. Director, Product Marketing.

The right candidate will translate strategic partnerships—spanning security platforms, cloud providers, and technology integrators—into differentiated messaging, joint GTM programs, and field-ready assets that accelerate Proofpoint’s growth. This role carries senior leadership visibility and requires someone equally comfortable setting strategy and executing deliverables.

Your Day to Day

Messaging & Strategy

  • Own the messaging architecture for Proofpoint’s strategic alliances, ensuring each partnership ladders up to our core platform narrative and human-centric security story.
  • Translate partner integrations into clear, differentiated value propositions with defined customer use cases and competitive angles.
  • Work with Core Product Marketing to ensure alliance integrations are reflected accurately in product launches, campaigns, and core messaging.

GTM Execution

  • Drive alliance launches end‑to‑end: messaging, packaging, enablement materials, and field readiness.
  • Build and deliver alliance enablement assets—solution briefs, sales decks, battle cards, partner talk tracks, and competitive guides.
  • Execute joint co‑marketing programs with strategic partners; coordinate timelines and deliverables across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Partners.
  • Track alliance performance metrics including pipeline influence and integration adoption; report results to leadership.

Partner & Field Engagement

  • Partner with Sales to support active deals, joint customer conversations, and field competitive positioning.
  • Represent Proofpoint in partner working sessions, QBRs, and industry events.

What You Bring to the Team

  • 8–12+ years in B2B technology, with at least 4–5 years in product marketing, solutions marketing, or GTM strategy—ideally in the cybersecurity industry.
  • Direct cybersecurity ecosystem experience: prior roles at a security vendor or extensive work with security-focused partners (e.g., Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, Okta, or ServiceNow).
  • Demonstrated track record managing technology alliances or ecosystem partnerships, including joint GTM programs, co‑sell motions, and integration launches.
  • Strong PMM craft: messaging frameworks, competitive positioning, narrative development, and the ability to translate complex integrations into clear, buyer-ready stories.
  • Experience building sales and enablement content—solution briefs, battle cards, decks, playbooks—that gets used in the field.
  • Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams and executives without direct authority; skilled at navigating large, matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent communicator with comfort presenting to senior leaders and external partner executives.
