Calix provides an AI-native platform and managed services that enable our customers and partners to compete and win in any market. We're at the forefront of a once-in-a-generation change in the managed services industry, and Calix is making strategic investments to establish managed services as a major growth engine and future billion-dollar business. To achieve this, Calix is forming a dedicated, cross-functional Managed Business team responsible for defining not only the market strategy, but the complete customer and operational models required to scale profitably.

Calix is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Marketing Director, Managed Business, focused on turning strategic market opportunity into scalable growth. The Product Marketing Director, Managed Business will be responsible for a portfolio of property/enterprise network gateways, Wi-Fi, Ethernet switches, and managed services, along with their supporting software and management platforms. The product marketing director will drive top-to-bottom product and solution messaging, value propositions, product launch and software release marketing, and serve as the product-level source of truth for cross-functional go-to-market teams. You will partner tightly with product leaders to influence the roadmap; work closely with sales to drive product adoption; collaborate with customer success to develop customer enablement programs; and translate technical capabilities into clear business outcomes for managed service providers.

Core Responsibilities & Tasks:
  • Own the product story for the Managed Business portfolio — hardware, software, and management platforms, including network gateway routers, managed switches, Wi-Fi appliances, and managed services. Define what each product is, the problem it solves, why it wins, and how teams position it in market.
  • Collaborate to define the target market segments, ICPs, and personas, and translate personas into clear use cases, buying triggers, adoption barriers, decision criteria, and differentiated product messaging.
  • Run launches end to end — readiness criteria, cross-functional checklists, milestones, messaging, and launch materials.
  • Lead quarterly launch planning and execution, serving as the primary product marketing liaison to Product Line Leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Bring the market into the roadmap through Concept and Validation phases, translating customer, partner, and sales feedback into clear implications for product strategy.
  • Build and maintain the sales toolkit — pitch, demo script, collateral, partner enablement, FAQs, and release-specific assets.
  • Drive internal enablement so customer-facing teams understand the value proposition, use cases, buyer needs, objections, and competitive positioning.
  • Align stakeholders across Product, Commercial Solutions, Segment Strategy, Sales, Support, Communications, and Demand Generation — from planning through release and field adoption.
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years marketing technology to or through managed service providers (MSPs), VARs, systems integrators, or similar channel partner ecosystems.
  • Deep knowledge of managed services business models and partner-led go-to-market motions.
  • Deep product marketing experience owning positioning, messaging, launch strategy, sales enablement, use-case definition, and go-to-market execution
  • Proven success in establishing credibility in a market where the company is a new entrant
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional launches spanning product, sales, support, communications, partner, and demand generation teams.
  • Strong grasp of the product lifecycle — market input, concept, validation, launch readiness, release communications, and feedback loops.
  • Track record building sales toolkits, demo narratives, competitive messaging, collateral, and partner-facing content.
  • Ability to translate technical products and market insight into compelling business value and actionable field enablement.
  • Excellent executive communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize market, customer, sales, and competitive inputs into clear recommendations.
  • Able to support periodic bursts of travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the Wi-Fi market across multi-family housing, hospitality, venues, and related property-based segments.
  • In-depth understanding of property/enterprise Wi-Fi, networking, managed network services, and their supporting software and management solutions.
  • Experience leading product advisory inputs, launch councils, sales councils, or structured cross-functional readiness forums.
  • Experience leading the organizational change required to take new products into unfamiliar markets, including aligning stakeholders, adapting go-to-market processes, defining new buyer and partner motions, and helping established teams operate successfully outside their historical market focus.
