The Role

As a Monetization Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in scaling Air Apps’ growth by owning both subscription and ad monetization strategies across our mobile app portfolio.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and optimize pricing, paywalls, upsell flows, retention strategies, and ad placements, all while ensuring user experience remains at the center. You’ll dive into data, run experiments, and help shape how millions of users engage with our products.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze industry trends and competitor strategies to identify monetization opportunities.

  • Design and implement monetization strategies to maximize subscription and ad revenue.

  • Collaborate with design and development teams to implement monetization features effectively.

  • Create user segmentation frameworks and define experimentation hypotheses for monetization.

  • Model financial opportunities and expected outcomes for monetization initiatives.

  • Analyze pricing strategies and competitive benchmarks to improve subscription pricing.

  • Set up and manage subscriptions and pricing tiers on App Store Connect.

  • Experiment with different in-app paywall placements to optimize conversion rates.

  • Collaborate with the design team to test and refine paywall layouts and calls-to-action.

  • Develop and implement win-back strategies for lapsed or inactive users.

  • Identify drivers of churn and implement initiatives to improve user retention.

  • Analyze user behavior to identify upsell opportunities and execute upsell strategies.

  • Create strategies to increase free trial starts and improve onboarding flows.

  • Ensure that monetization strategies do not negatively impact the user experience.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of monetization strategies, tests, and performance data.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Apple’s policies and international regulations.

Requirements
  • Approximately 4+ years of experience in mobile app monetization, with a focus on subscriptions and/or ad revenue.

  • Solid understanding of in-app purchase systems, paywall design, pricing models, and subscription lifecycle management.

  • Experience with ad monetization platforms (e.g., AdMob, IronSource, AppLovin) and A/B testing tools.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in cohort analysis, revenue modeling, and performance reporting.

  • Familiarity with App Store Connect, subscription setup, and Apple’s monetization policies.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering.

  • Passion for delivering exceptional user experiences while optimizing for revenue.
