Role Overview

As a Commercial & Specialty Insurance Product Manager, you will define and deliver product strategy within the dynamic world of insurance. You will be responsible for an underwriting product end to end, collaborating with underwriting, operations, technology, and support teams across multiple regions to improve data quality, user experience, and operational efficiency. From submission management and claims to data models and system integrations, you will drive product outcomes in one of the most highly regulated and rapidly evolving sectors of financial services.

Scope of services:
  • Define and evolve the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and OKRs for an underwriting tool, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.

  • Lead end-to-end product delivery from strategy through execution, translating complex underwriting processes (e.g. submissions, placement, renewals, bordereaux) into actionable user stories, epics, and product roadmaps.

  • Manage and continuously refine the product backlog, collaborating with Business Analysts and Agile delivery teams to ensure appropriate prioritisation and readiness.

  • Define, monitor, and communicate product success metrics, including data quality, turnaround time, and error rates, while tracking progress against OKRs.

  • Collaborate with data engineers and solution architects to define data models, integration boundaries, and API standards across a multi-system landscape.

  • Coordinate cross-functional activities and collaborate with Delivery and Technology Leads during planning and product delivery.

  • Conduct structured user research and post-launch reviews with underwriting and support users across multiple regions, translating insights into a prioritised improvement backlog.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for product-related topics, communicating product performance, risks, opportunities, and roadmap updates to stakeholders.

About you
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner within Commercial & Specialty Insurance or Reinsurance, ideally supporting carrier or underwriting solutions.

  • Strong understanding of London Market insurance processes and underwriting operations.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

  • Experience translating business requirements into product outcomes within Agile delivery environments.

Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled product strategies, including Generative AI and agentic AI solutions.

  • Experience supporting cross-border or multi-region product initiatives.

  • Understanding of regulatory, risk, and governance requirements within financial services, including SOX-related controls and reporting.

We offer a flexible collaboration model based on a B2B contract, with the opportunity to work on diverse projects.
