Job Summary
As the Product Quality and Reliability Engineer, you will support our Metal Deposition Team and lead multiple quality engineering projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. You will also work with development engineers to ensure the proliferation of Design For Reliability (DFR) methods into our stream of new product developments. You will complete the reliability analysis for new products and plan the reliability validation tests.

Major Responsibilities  

  • Engage in multiple key new product programs as quality and reliability owner 
  • Proliferate characterization methodology using advance statistical analytics tools to address new product HW/Process variations
  • Drive DfR for key programs to develop FMECA/technical risks, apply BKMs/lessons, learn to reduce risks, and validate solutions by developing and tracking CRAMS/ERAMS test plans
  • Evaluates, from a reliability standpoint, the materials, properties, and techniques used in design and manufacturing by AMAT and AMAT's suppliers
  • Engage suppliers and lead Part Qualification Process (PQP) at supplier sites identifying and addressing risks within the supplier's manufacturing process
  • Troubleshoot, analyze non-conformance and failure rate data using advanced business analytics to focus and prioritize the Q&R projects and prepare management reports
  • Drives 8D and FA projects towards a successful implementation of solutions
  • Engage in Design reviews and Engineering Change Requests for their impact on Quality and Reliability (Q&R)

  • Demonstrates depth and breadth of expertise in mechanical/systems engineering, mechanisms and components qualification, manufacturing and failure analysis, DFR, electro-mechanical components.  
  • Technically astute and detail-oriented. High-energy, hands-on, self-confident leader with a broad knowledge of product development, manufacturing quality, and reliability methods.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, personal presence, style, and demeanor, to effectively influence and lead others to find and implement solutions to complex quality and reliability problems.  
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.  
  • Strong desire to learn and grow your career with the organization.  
  • Able to travel to supplier sites in the USA and Asia.  

Education and Experience  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering, ME preferred. Certified Quality or Reliability Engineer. Six Sigma certification (Black Belt, Green Belt). Semiconductor capital equipment experience.
  • Hands-on design experience using CAD tools, Experience with FEA analysis is a plus
  • Experience in Quality and Reliability preferred, strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • 10+ yrs work experience

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
