At Cardless, we’re building a credit card and loyalty platform that consumer businesses use to engage their customers. We’ve launched 14 credit cards, including for Alibaba and Qatar Airways. We help businesses bring imaginative card programs to life, and have pioneered technology to embed credit card features natively into their products.

We value curiosity, humility, and intensity — we move fast and take ownership. This is a place where a motivated, resourceful individual can have an enormous impact on our trajectory. We're headquartered in San Francisco, and have raised about $90M in equity funding from top venture capital firms and angels.

———

As a product manager, you will help us further our mission to make credit better, by powering the next generation of credit cards. This means building a delightful experience for consumers, and powerful engagement and marketing tools for brands (all on a solid financial product foundation). You’ll get to work across different problem areas and across disciplines as you advocate for our consumer customers and work with our partners to bring new financial products to market.

Requirements

  • You have a track record of building great fintech products. You know what great looks like, and you love the process. Ideally you have spent time at a B2B or platform company, and understand what it means to build a platform (not custom software)
  • Attention to detail. You care about making really great things – and can think through problems at a deep level of detail. They know that the details are where the magic happens – but they also know when to be scrappy and quick.
  • Effective in high-stakes rooms. You're comfortable in conversation with a wide array of stakeholders, even when the stakes are high. You value good preparation and a positive attitude. Ideally, you have experience working with large institutional customers / stakeholders.
  • Interdisciplinary curiosity. You can get "nerdy" about a wide range of topics (in fintech and beyond). You're intellectually confident and humble: you admit when you don't know something. You listen, and ask great questions.

Responsibilities

  • Take a nascent, simple-sounding project, flesh it out, and then push it through the exhilarating / excruciating process of development and launch.
  • Go from uninformed simplicity, to informed complexity, and then finally to informed simplicity
  • Rinse, and repeat.
  • You'll have 2-3 complex projects at a time, at different stages. Success is delivering quickly and at high-quality.
  • They'll be little wins too – we get feedback from customers every day, and deploy multiple times a week.
  • You'll also support on our roadmap, sprint planning, and long-term vision

Benefits

We're headquartered in San Francisco, CA, with a beautiful office in the Mission District. We're proud to offer our team excellent benefits:

💸 Meaningful Start-up equity
🏥 100% health, vision & dental primary coverage
➕ 75% health, vision & dental dependent coverage

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
