The Project Architect is responsible for producing high quality construction documents per PBK standards, with a focus on athletic and sports facility projects. The Project Architect will participate in all phases of the project, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration. The Project Architect reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for the performance of the production team working underneath him or her. The Project Architect will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely projects completion within budget constraints in accordance PBK’s quality and client service standards.

Your Impact:

  • Direct and coordinate production of construction documents and specifications in compliance with PBK standards.

  • Organize and direct the architectural and/or engineering teams to execute the work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner.

  • Participate in the planning and design of sports and athletic facilities, including indoor and outdoor competition venues and support spaces

  • Coordinate specialized sports facility requirements including field layouts, spectator circulation, team spaces, equipment coordination, and athletic support functions

  • Ensure that project meets the budget goals and schedules set by the client.

  • Coordination with government agencies, utility companies and resolve plan check and approval issues with the agencies.

  • Apply strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirement, life safety standards, and occupancy considerations related to sports and assembly facilities.

  • Directs, organize, and mentor junior staff while overseeing production assignments and quality control.

  • Support Project Manager, Production Director, and/or Client Executive in supervision of project staff.

  • Establish budget, task schedule, and work plans in coordination with the Project Manager.

  • Collaborate with consultants, clients, coaches, athletic departments, and user groups to support successful project outcomes

  • Assist in coordinating construction administration activities including submittal review, RFIs, field observations, and project closeout

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Must be a licensed Architect.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture is required.

  • Architecture License is required.

  • 5 + years of professional experience preferred.

  • Experience in sports, athletic, recreation, or large assembly facility design strongly preferred.

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in using Revit.

  • Strong understanding of construction detailing, coordination, and technical documentation

  • Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience coordinating with athletic stakeholders, specialty consultants, and sports equipment vendors is a plus
