We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil/Electrical CAD Drafter to support the design and documentation of Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure projects. This role focuses on preparing accurate drawings, layouts, and construction documents using AutoCAD and related drafting tools. The drafter will work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to produce construction-ready documents that meet local and state requirements. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in AutoCAD drafting, familiar with civil and electrical design principles, and capable of producing high-quality, detailed drawings in a fast-paced project environment.

Pay: $75,000–$95,000

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Responsibilities

Drafting & Design Support

  • Prepare detailed site plans, grading layouts, utility routing, and equipment pad locations using AutoCAD.
  • Create architectural and electrical details, elevations, and minor structure layouts related to EV infrastructure (e.g., equipment enclosures, parking layouts, conduit routing).
  • Update and revise drawings based on engineer/architect markups, redlines, and agency comments.

Documentation & Standards

  • Maintain organized drawing sets and ensure adherence to drafting standards and document control practices.
  •  Produce exhibits and plan sets for permit submittals, zoning applications, and construction documentation.
  • Ensure drawings comply with ADA, fire/life safety, and jurisdictional standards.

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with civil and electrical engineers, permitting staff, and project managers to support project design needs.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for agency reviews, site plan approvals, and planning board submissions.
  • Participate in team meetings and occasionally support site walks or agency discussions as needed.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent training in drafting, design technology, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience as a CAD Drafter in MEP projects.
  • Experience supporting site development, permitting, or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (required).
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D, Revit, or GIS tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam for document management and markups.
  • Understanding of drawing production standards and best practices for document control
  • Familiarity with zoning codes, land use planning, building codes, and permitting workflows preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple drafting assignments.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10–15%) for site walks, meetings, or field verification.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of CAD drafting experience in civil, electrical, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with EV, utility, or clean energy projects a plus.
  • Familiarity with electrical system layouts in commercial or industrial environments.
  • Certifications in CAD drafting, BIM, or related technical fields (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional)
