Company Description

Agile IT is a Microsoft-specialized firm serving the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and other regulated industries. We help defense contractors achieve and maintain CMMC compliance by providing them with secure cloud environments and providing ongoing compliance and IT management services.

As one of approximately 70 AOS-G partners in the United States and a Tier-1 Direct Microsoft CSP, we hold unique authority to deliver and license Microsoft 365 GCC High and Azure Government environments for defense contractors handling Controlled Unclassified Information. We hold numerous Microsoft Solutions Partner designations and operate exclusively within regulated industries; we do not dilute our expertise across unrelated verticals or commodity IT engagements.

We’re a remote-first team that runs on our Core Values: Reliability, Integrity, Stewardship, and Excellence. We operate using the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). That means clear accountability, goals, and a culture that rewards people who take ownership and don’t wait to take action.

Job Description

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to own end-to-end delivery of client engagements across our professional services and managed services portfolio. You’ll manage onboarding projects for new managed service clients — including Managed IT Administration, Managed Cloud Ops, and Managed Compliance Services — as well as professional services projects such as Microsoft 365 and Azure migrations, M365 GCC High and Azure Government deployments, accelerator packages, and compliance remediation engagements.

You don’t need to be a technical expert, a compliance consultant, or a licensing specialist — those roles exist and handle those domains. What you need to be is an exceptional project manager: someone who keeps complex engagements on track, communicates clearly with clients and internal teams, and takes ownership of delivery outcomes from kickoff through closeout.

Candidates with hands-on experience delivering projects inside an IT VAR, MSP, or IT consulting firm will be given strong preference. If you’ve lived the operational realities of IT service delivery -- managing multiple client expectations, coordinating engineers across concurrent engagements, and keeping projects profitable -- you’ll have an immediate advantage here.

This role reports to the Service Delivery Manager, and you’ll work closely together on ongoing delivery process improvement.

What You’ll Own

  • Full project lifecycle management from kickoff through closeout across simultaneous active engagements
  • Scope, schedule, budget, and risk management on every project you carry
  • Client communication and status reporting throughout delivery — you are the day-to-day delivery interface for active projects
  • Internal resource coordination across engineering and compliance delivery teams
  • Project documentation: project plans, RAID logs, status reports, milestone tracking, and closeout packages
  • Post-project lessons learned: facilitating structured, RCA-style reviews at project close to identify what went well, what broke down, and what should change — findings are shared with the Service Delivery Manager for process improvement and implementation
  • Tool hygiene: keeping AutoTask PSA and Moovila current on project status, time tracking, and billing milestone handoffs

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of project management experience with demonstrated ownership of complex, multi-stakeholder engagements
  • Background in IT consulting, managed services (MSP), or value-added reseller (VAR) environments — you understand how IT service delivery works commercially and operationally; this is the most important differentiator we’re looking for
  • Experience managing client onboarding or implementation projects with defined scope, milestones, and handoff points
  • Experience facilitating post-project reviews or retrospectives with a genuine continuous improvement orientation

Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to run a client status call and an internal resource conversation with equal confidence
  • Ability to manage scope creep, competing priorities, and ambiguity without losing accountability
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, remote-first environment where you own your outcomes

Tools

  • Working familiarity with PSA or project management platforms (AutoTask, Moovila, ConnectWise, ServiceNow, MS Project, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

Credentials

  • Active PMP or CAPM certification (preferred but not required — experience in the IT VAR/MSP space carries more weight than certification alone)

Experience

  • Familiarity with Managed IT or Managed Compliance service offerings and processes
  • Awareness of CMMC, NIST 800-171, M365 GCC High, or Azure Government in a delivery context — deep expertise is not expected, but environmental awareness helps you anticipate timelines and coordinate the right internal resources
  • Experience working with DoD contractors or in the Defense Industrial Base
  • Familiarity with EOS or similar operational frameworks

Additional Information

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, professional development)
  • Fully remote work environment with flexibility and autonomy
  • Work on projects that matter — our clients protect sensitive defense information and rely on us to get it right
  • Direct access to leadership and real influence over how we build and improve delivery
