About Eridan

Eridan is a deep tech startup working on breakthrough wireless technology with the potential to transform how the world communicates. We move fast, operate with purpose, and hold ourselves to an unusually high standard of execution. The people who thrive here are those who see ambiguity as opportunity, take ownership without being asked, and care deeply about getting things right.

We're building the structures and processes that will carry us from early-stage to scaled operations — and we need people who are excited to help build those foundations, not just inherit them.

About the Role

We're looking for a Project Manager who can bring order, structure, and strategic clarity to how Eridan plans and delivers software. This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage an already-defined PM process. It's for someone who wants to create one — and then own it. You'll work at the intersection of software engineering and product strategy, owning the long-range planning that keeps our teams aligned and moving. You'll be the connective tissue between big-picture goals and day-to-day execution. This role sits within a high-trust, high-ownership environment. You'll be expected to speak up, push back when something doesn't make sense, and move fast without waiting for perfect conditions. If that sounds like you, read on.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Own and maintain Eridan's 12–24 month software deliverables roadmap — keeping it current, realistic, and aligned with company goals
  • Design and lead quarterly sprint planning cycles, defining feature development stages from concept through delivery
  • Partner closely with software engineers to scope work, surface blockers early, and keep delivery on track
  • Build project management processes and documentation standards where few currently exist — you'll be starting from a mostly blank slate
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment: bridging engineering, product, and operations so priorities stay clear and dependencies don't become surprises
  • Track progress in Jira and produce clear, consistent status updates for stakeholders at all levels
  • Run retrospectives, planning ceremonies, and working sessions that actually drive decisions — not just fill calendars
  • Leverage AI tools (Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT) to increase your own throughput and help the teams around you work smarter
What We're Looking For

Required

  • 3–5 years of project management experience, ideally in a software or technology context
  • Strong Jira proficiency and hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Ability to communicate fluently with software engineers — you don't need to write code, but you need to understand how software gets built
  • Demonstrated ability to build or significantly improve PM processes in a high-growth or resource-constrained environment
  • Action-oriented and self-directed — you move things forward without waiting for someone to tell you it's time
  • Comfortable with conflict — you'll push back on stakeholders, surface hard truths, and drive resolution on competing priorities
  • Adaptable and calm under ambiguity — startup environments change fast, and you adjust without losing momentum
  • Active user of AI productivity tools (Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent)

Nice to Have

  • Background as a Process Engineer, Operations Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineer — these career paths often produce exactly the mindset we're looking for
  • Experience in an early-stage (Seed–Series B) startup or similarly fast-moving technical environment
  • Familiarity with hardware/software hybrid product development cycles
  • PMP certification or equivalent formal PM training
  • Exposure to government contracts, or grant-funded project structures
What We Offer
  • A high-impact individual contributor role with a clear path to building and leading a PM function as Eridan grows
  • Direct access to leadership and meaningful input on company strategy
  • A technically sophisticated team that will challenge and sharpen your thinking
  • Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits
  • The opportunity to work on technology that has a real chance of reshaping a global industry
  • Ability to learn, develop, and advance within a flexible environment
  • Celebrate progress company-wide
Who Thrives Here

The people who do best at Eridan are direct, accountable, and energized by hard problems. They don't wait for perfect information, they don't avoid difficult conversations, and they care more about getting the right outcome than being right. If you're the kind of PM who prefers a defined playbook over building one, this probably isn't the right fit — but if you're excited by the idea of creating the playbook, we want to talk.

Salary Range

Given our anticipated growth, we are open to hiring individuals with varying levels of experience to fill this role. Salary will be commensurate with job-related skills, experience and other relevant factors. The base salary range for the primary location of this role is between $100,000 and $125,000 plus stock options and benefits.

Eridan is an equal opportunity employer. We value and celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
