Description

The Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading complex engineering product development programs across EPC Power’s inverter and power electronics portfolio. This role focuses specifically on new product development and major product enhancements, not construction or EPC-style project execution.

The Technical Program Manager will manage large, cross-functional engineering teams operating within a matrix organization, ensuring alignment across hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, test, operations, and product management functions. This individual acts as the central coordination point to drive schedule execution, technical alignment, risk mitigation, and delivery readiness throughout the full product lifecycle.

Requirements

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate product development programs from concept through engineering validation, pilot builds, and production release.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar advanced scheduling platforms, accounting for parallel hardware and software development paths.
  • Manage execution across large, technically complex, cross-functional teams, including hardware, software/firmware, electrical, mechanical, test, manufacturing, and supply chain engineering.
  • Operate effectively within a matrix engineering organization, influencing without direct authority and aligning priorities across functional leaders.
  • Define project scope, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables in partnership with engineering and product stakeholders.
  • Track progress against schedule, cost, and technical readiness; proactively identify and mitigate risks across design, integration, and validation phases.
  • Drive product lifecycle execution, including design reviews, design validation testing (DVT/EVT), change control, and release readiness.
  • Coordinate engineering change orders (ECOs) and ensure configuration control throughout development.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing regular status updates and escalation of risks or tradeoffs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of project or program management experience supporting engineering-driven product development, preferably in power electronics or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex product development projects involving both hardware and software components.
  • Hands-on experience working with cross-functional engineering teams that include electrical, mechanical, hardware, software/firmware, and test engineers.
  • Proficiency with advanced project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, dependency management, and engineering change processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product development experience in one or more of the following domains:
    • Grid-scale inverters or power supplies
    • Vehicle traction systems or motor drives
    • Renewable energy or energy storage systems
  • Experience operating within matrixed engineering organizations supporting multiple concurrent development programs.
  • Familiarity with design validation, hardware qualification, and regulated environments (UL, IEC, ISO 9001).
  • PMP or similar program/project management certification.
