Security is a primary competency at Coinbase, and the Security Team keeps a watchful eye over every aspect of it. The high level goal of a Blockchain Security team is to identify, measure, manage, mitigate, and report risk associated with Blockchain-based products and assets. Coinbase stores more digital currency than any company in the world, making us a tier 1 target on the internet. As a Blockchain Security TPM, you will join a premier team with one overarching goal: to secure funds and data from protocol through wallet.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Lead and manage complex Blockchain Security projects
- Lead technical tracking activities and perform risk assessment to identify key priorities and dependencies.
- Partner with Product Engineering, Asset Listings, Business Resilience, and other cross-functional stakeholders to develop and track objectives and key success metrics.
- Monitor project status, manage expectations, and rapidly identify issues/risks. Succinctly communicate issues to relevant stakeholders and proactively collaborate to ensure timely resolution.
- Manage BlockChain Security planning documentation, milestones, risks, and timelines to facilitate cross functional collaboration
- Improve on existing frameworks, processes and standardized templates related to various stages of security requirements and reviews.
- Identify and creatively resolve complex technical and cross-functional issues (often unique to each product feature).
- Run periodic retrospectives to gather feedback and best practices. Continually refine and improve processes for diligence and integration.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 7+ years total experience as a TPM, engineering leader, product manager (technical domain), or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in security, risk management, compliance, information systems or other relevant field.
- Design and iteratively improve procedures that solve problems in simple and scalable ways.
- Experience executing and delivering cross-functional projects with multiple dependencies and constraints.
- Organized, detail oriented, self-driven, and comfortable handling situations that may depart existing paved roads.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish trust with internal/external partners.
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders in order to drive alignment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of communicating at all levels involving both technical and non-technical teams/stakeholders.
Nice to haves:
- Experience in crypto/blockchain technology
- Comprehensive understanding of security domains, processes, risks and controls
- Experience working in a high security and/or highly regulated industry
- Certification in Program or Project Management
