About the role:

Lumafield is looking for a QA Engineer, Cloud Software to help ensure the quality and reliability of Voyager, our cutting-edge cloud SaaS platform. While Lumafield builds industrial CT scanners, this role sits entirely on our cloud software team, where you'll be ensuring the quality of a modern web application used by engineers worldwide. This is a critical, hands-on role where you will implement and iterate on the Voyager QA strategy, blending manual exploratory testing with the development of robust automation testing to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience to the users who rely on our platform for complex industrial inspection.

What you'll do:

  • Take ownership of our cloud software release testing and validation processes
  • Work closely with software developers to find and address bugs
  • Collaborate with engineers and product leadership in order to understand testing needs and turn ambiguous requirements into actionable test plans
  • Develop automated integration tests against your test plans, utilizing test frameworks such as Playwright to improve consistency and speed of tests
  • Manually run tests where necessary in order to validate new features and understand how better to automate them
  • Coordinate with external QA resources to improve test coverage across the application

About you:

  • Have 3+ years experience testing modern web applications
  • Understand web architecture (REST APIs, HTTP, etc)
  • Have hands-on experience writing automated tests in Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar
  • Can reason about complex systems and help define rigorous test plans which can identify regressions
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Enjoy working as a member of a software team spanning a large tech stack where we’re constantly learning new technologies as we push the limits of what’s possible
  • Find satisfaction in exploring edge cases and trying to break things
  • Are excited to learn more about our the ins and outs of the Voyager application and our users’ needs through integrating with team members and helping to meet their testing goals

Bonus points for:

  • A formal training in computer science
  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g. Sentry) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)

We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
