As a QEC Manager with a software focus, you will manage a team of approximately 5 direct reports working to develop software to support theoretical and experimental efforts to implement scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing using neutral atom qubits. Day-to-day responsibilities range from project management, software architecture decisions, budgeting decisions, technical mentoring, and individual technical contributions.
Responsibilities
- Hire and manage a team of high-performing QEC researchers and software engineers.
- Contribute 30-50% of your time towards hands-on QEC/SW projects
- Maintain ongoing communication with other technical managers, project leaders, and team members to ensure work is allocated effectively and efficiently
- Help to provide logistical support to create the infrastructure for the team to accomplish their goals.
Experience & Education
- PhD in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant industry experience
Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of experimental physicists, hardware, and software engineers
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a changing work environment
- Ability to hire the best talent from academia and industry
- Experience with quantum information theory and quantum error correction
- Familiarity with Python and at least one compiled language such as C, C++, or Rust
- Strong understanding of best practices for software development

The base salary range for this position is between $180,000-$220,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we offer a bonus plan and incentive stock options for equity in the company.
