Workstream is a mission-driven company building the all-in-one HR, payroll, and hiring platform for managing the hourly workforce. There are 2.7 billion hourly workers, making up 80% of the global workforce, but this market has been heavily underserved by technology and deserves better. Workstream has been purpose-built for the hourly workforce from day one so that these businesses and their employees can thrive.

Our customers include leading brands from multiple sectors, including Burger King, Carl's Jr./Hardee's, IHOP, KFC, and Culvers. We are a high growth series B company and quickly expanding our product portfolio to deliver on our vision. We are backed by legendary VCs and industry experts like Founders Fund, BOND, and Coatue.

Grow With Us

We are looking for a highly driven, resourceful, and execution-focused Special Projects Recruiter to lead high-volume recruiting for one of Workstream’s most important operational initiatives: scaling our Video Contributor contractor programs.

In this role, you will own recruiting strategy and execution for large-scale hourly contractor hiring, with an immediate focus on rapidly expanding in-office hiring for video contributors in Menlo Park while also supporting broader domestic and international contractor hiring needs as projects evolve.

This is a high-urgency, zero-to-one recruiting role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, can build scalable recruiting systems quickly, and knows how to generate candidate volume through creative sourcing, platform optimization, and operational rigor. You will work cross-functionally with recruiting, operations, project managers, and on-site teams to help scale hiring capacity to meet aggressive production goals.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to post jobs, optimize sourcing funnels, manage candidate pipelines, and improve recruiting systems—while also thinking strategically about how to build repeatable, scalable high-volume hiring infrastructure.

This role requires 4 to 5 days in our Menlo Park office, and will be a rapidly growing role that works closely with the co-founders.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a traditional recruiter role focused on steady-state hiring. This is a strategic, high-volume recruiting builder role focused on helping Workstream rapidly scale a critical operational initiative. You will act as both operator and strategist—building sourcing engines, optimizing systems, and driving execution against ambitious hiring targets.

The best candidates are recruiters who combine speed, creativity, operational excellence, and resourcefulness—people who know how to build volume quickly while maintaining quality and who are excited by the challenge of scaling a zero-to-one special project.

Day In The Life

  • Own end-to-end recruiting for high-volume Video Contributor contractor hiring, with a primary focus on Menlo Park in-office hiring
  • Build and optimize scalable sourcing strategies across Workstream, Indeed, and other job platforms to rapidly increase applicant flow
  • Develop creative sourcing channels for hourly workers and contractor talent to meet aggressive hiring targets
  • Manage large candidate pipelines from sourcing through screening, scheduling, offer, and onboarding coordination
  • Partner closely with internal project leads, recruiters, and cross-functional stakeholders to align hiring with production goals
  • Partner closely with People Ops to ensure smooth and timely onboarding experiences
  • Identify funnel bottlenecks and improve conversion rates across job postings, candidate communications, and process design
  • Coordinate hiring logistics across multiple stakeholders, including onsite teams, contractor managers, and international hiring support when needed
  • Track recruiting metrics, hiring velocity, and sourcing channel performance to continuously improve outcomes
  • Help design and operationalize recruiting systems that can scale from current volume to significantly larger hiring needs
  • Support special hiring initiatives, rapid hiring surges, and recruiting experimentation as project needs evolve
  • Help manage other US role requisitions and support sourcing and other recruitment initiatives, where needed

Who You Are

  • 3–7+ years of recruiting experience, with strong preference for high-volume, hourly, contractor, or operational recruiting
  • Proven ability to scale recruiting quickly in fast-paced or ambiguous environments
  • Experience sourcing through job boards, marketplaces, and creative non-traditional recruiting channels
  • Strong operational rigor and comfort managing large candidate funnels simultaneously
  • Ability to move quickly, solve problems in real time, and execute with urgency
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfort working cross-functionally across recruiting, operations, and project teams
  • Experience building or improving recruiting processes, workflows, or systems
  • High ownership mindset with pride in hitting aggressive hiring goals
  • Willingness to work from the Menlo Park office for 5 days per week
Nice To Have
  • Experience in staffing, marketplace, BPO, or large-scale contractor recruiting
  • Experience recruiting for content creation, media operations, or contributor programs
  • Familiarity with hourly workforce recruiting and high-volume sourcing channels
  • Experience supporting international hiring or globally distributed contractor programs
  • Experience with recruiting operations, ATS optimization, or recruiting analytics
  • Startup or special projects recruiting experience

Salary Range

In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is between $80,000 to $100,000 in Menlo Park. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
