What You’ll Do

The AssetMark Wealth Solutions group manages the comprehensive set of investor services available for independent financial advisors use on the AssetMark platform when constructing comprehensive investment and wealth management proposals for their clients. These services include a curated investment program, advanced planning support, a host of wealth management programs and a robust retirement plan services offer. 

We are seeking an experienced external sales professional to serve as a Regional Director, Private Wealth & Wealth Solutions. This role is responsible for driving adoption of AssetMark’s Private Wealth offering, along with other Wealth Solutions capabilities, within a defined territory. The position combines business development, relationship management, and consultative sales, working closely with internal sales teams and subject matter specialists to support financial advisors in delivering customized investment and wealth management solutions to their clients.

This is a fully remote role that will involve regular travel within the assigned territory and requires strong engagement with independent financial advisors through in-person meetings, virtual presentations, and industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Drive adoption of AssetMark’s Private Wealth offering by partnering with financial advisors to develop customized investment portfolios and comprehensive wealth management strategies for high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients
  • Engage directly with advisors through in-person meetings, virtual presentations, and events to deliver investment and wealth solutions insights.
  • Promote and drive adoption of the Private Wealth program as a primary offering but embracing a consultative approach that also supports the distribution of internally managed investment and wealth solutions available on the platform.
  • Support advisors in portfolio construction and wealth strategy, including tax-aware investing and planning for HNW and UHNW clients. 
  • Collaborate with AssetMark sales teams (Client Solutions Group) to identify, develop, and advance opportunities within existing advisor relationships.
  • Develop new advisor relationships through proactive external sales activity while maintaining relationships with existing users of Private Wealth and AssetMark Wealth Solutions products and services.
  • Own and execute a territory business plan focused on building strong relationships with financial advisors and driving growth across AssetMark Wealth Solutions offerings
  • Maintain an active and well-managed pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress through the sales cycle.
  • Represent AssetMark Wealth Solutions at advisor events, conferences, and client meetings, delivering presentations in both individual and group settings
  • Work with Wealth Solutions specialists, including Advanced Planning, Client Portfolio Managers (CPMs), and Investment Strategy teams, to deliver integrated solutions tailored to advisor and client needs
  • Provide market feedback on advisor needs, competitive positioning, and product opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies

  • Strong understanding of investment products, including mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, and private market strategies
  • Ability to communicate complex investment and wealth concepts in a clear and practical manner
  • Experience engaging with financial advisors and supporting high-net-worth client needs
  • Strong relationship management and business development skills
  • Ability to manage a territory and prioritize activities effectively
  • Proven presentation skills in both small and large group settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and functions
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment

Education & Experience

  • 5–7+ years of experience in external sales, wholesaling, or advisor-facing roles within asset or wealth management
  • Experience selling investment solutions to financial advisors required
  • Experience working with independent financial advisors (RIA and/or broker-dealer channels) preferred.
  • Exposure to high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth client segments preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CFA, CFP, CAIA, or similar professional designation preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or ability to obtain) required

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $180,000-$200,000, as well as a highly competitive Sales Incentive Plan . This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also include competitive benefits.
