Compensation: Upon successfully completing our interview process to the offer stage, we are open to discussing a tailored compensation package. Candidates are invited to submit a proposed structure for base salary and performance incentives that aligns with their skills and sales targets.

The Role

Regional Sales Manager for our Great Lakes Region, including Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude, impeccable integrity, strong business acumen, and exceptional communication skills.

For the Great Lakes Region, the ideal candidate will reside near a major airport and be comfortable with frequent regional travel, including regular overnight travel to support customer visits, distributor development, project reviews, training, trade shows, and industry events.

This role is responsible for driving territory growth, developing strategic customer relationships, expanding market share, and achieving sales objectives through a consultative, engineering-focused sales approach. Success will be measured through revenue growth, new business development, customer retention, distributor engagement, and the successful conversion of opportunities into long-term customer partnerships.

The Regional Sales Manager will help engineers, OEMs, machine builders, system integrators, and automation solution providers solve complex motion and mechanical design challenges through consultative engineering support and application-focused solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical aptitude with customer-facing sales skills and thrives in collaborative problem-solving environments. You will work directly with engineering teams, integrators, and industrial manufacturers to identify application requirements, recommend optimized linear and rotary motion solutions, and support projects from concept through implementation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical discussions, application engineering, territory development, and building long-term customer relationships within the automation and motion control industry. Candidates should be comfortable discussing mechanical systems, motion technologies, product performance, environmental constraints, and system integration considerations with technically sophisticated customers.

You will serve as a trusted technical resource for customers requiring solutions for harsh, high-cycle, precision, washdown, or demanding industrial environments. Success in this role requires the ability to understand customer engineering challenges, translate application needs into effective solutions, and effectively communicate Bishop-Wisecarver’s technical and business value beyond price alone.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing territory growth strategies to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities within assigned markets and accounts.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with OEMs, machine builders, integrators, distributors, and end users.
  • Conducting application reviews and providing technical guidance to customers throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborating with internal engineering, customer service, and operations teams to deliver successful customer outcomes.
  • Maintaining an active sales pipeline, forecasting opportunities, and utilizing HubSpot CRM to manage customer engagement.
  • Representing the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
  • Supporting distributor development, training, and market expansion initiatives throughout the region.

This is a home office-based position requiring travel throughout the region, including overnight travel. The ideal candidate is self-directed, technically curious, competitive, and driven to build strong customer relationships through engineering knowledge, responsiveness, and solution-oriented thinking.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, application engineering, industrial automation, motion control, or a related industrial market.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and grow territory sales.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand technical applications and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned region, including frequent overnight travel.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air.

Preferred:

  • Experience with linear motion, motion control, automation, robotics, machine design, or related technologies.
  • Experience working with OEMs, machine builders, system integrators, or industrial distributors.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and territory management practices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial automation applications.

What BW offers:

  • Competitive base salary, plus an attractive incentive plan based on performance (also see compensation note above)
  • Excellent benefit package with a generous employer contribution
  • Car allowance
  • 401(k) safe-harbor match
  • Profit Sharing
