Research Analyst – JLL

What this job involves:

We are seeking a Research Analyst to join our team in our Silicon Valley office in Menlo Park. In this role, you will build and elevate a best-in-class research program that differentiates JLL and drives competitive advantage through market expertise, analysis, and insight. You will achieve data excellence while enhancing our offerings in business intelligence, data visualization, and graphical output. With primary responsibility for the Silicon Valley and Mid-Peninsula commercial real estate market, you will collaborate closely with JLL research leadership in San Francisco and colleagues throughout the Americas research group. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the largest research group in the real estate industry while working within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Collect and audit JLL's proprietary database of commercial real estate properties, lease and sale comps for office, industrial, and retail properties
  • Collaborate with local market leadership and sales force to execute data collection and auditing plans
  • Analyze and present commercial real estate trends, including leasing, business migration, sales, and socio-economic data
  • Expand and improve the research platform, program, and output that demonstrates market expertise through data excellence
  • Create compelling visual communications integrating JLL's proprietary research data for business development, external distribution, and client requests
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external clients and facilitate the use of technology tools
  • Present to internal teams and clients to demonstrate tools and analytical capabilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, urban planning, or related field
  • Up to one year in commercial real estate research, economic and demographic analysis, or closely related field
  • Command of requisite technology including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and database systems
  • High-level analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, data collection, validation, and auditing skills
  • Ability to multi-task, succeed under pressure, and effectively manage time and workload

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Command of local Silicon Valley and Mid-Peninsula markets and business dynamics
  • Comfort with visualization tools and data presentation platforms
  • Proactive and strategic thinking with ability to align research with business objectives and innovate research output
  • Interest in life science related real estate and understanding its importance within the Bay Area
  • Motivated and self-starting with a desire to succeed and contribute to team success
  • Ability to develop and share best practice standards across regions
  • Experience presenting professionally to clients and representing the firm

Estimated compensation for this position:

83,000.00 – 92,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
