As a Research Associate, you’ll play a critical role behind the scenes—connecting members, nurses, and advocates with the healthcare resources they need most. What You’ll Do: Your Roadmap to Impact 

As a Research Associate, you’ll support healthcare navigation through high-quality research, organization, and follow-through. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Researching and understanding healthcare system websites, databases, and reference materials in accordance with departmental and corporate policies
  • Researching and documenting requested information such as primary care physicians, dentists, specialists, eldercare services, nursing homes, and related resources
  • Identifying appropriate benefit plans and benefit offerings when applicable
  • Providing accurate, easy-to-understand research findings to nurses, advocates, and internal partners
  • Responding to member requests by delivering clear, specific resources and available options
  • Entering and maintaining accurate documentation within internal systems
  • Compiling research results in a user-friendly format to support member decision-making
  • Tracking cases and conducting timely follow-ups with members and providers
  • Ensuring all work complies with quality standards, internal procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and COBRA
  • Monitoring recurring research issues or trends and escalating concerns to leadership as appropriate

Who You Are: The Advocate We’re Looking For 

You’re someone who enjoys digging into details, organizing information, and helping others through accuracy and follow-through. You bring:

  • A high school diploma or GED required; associate degree in business, liberal arts, healthcare management, or a related field preferred
  • At least one year of healthcare-related experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional phone etiquette
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to understand and clarify requests
  • Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution abilities
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to quality
  • Solid organizational and multitasking skills, including consistent follow-up
  • Comfort using MS Word, Excel, and web-based research tools
  • The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages) may be required based on assignment

Physical Requirements:
This position is primarily sedentary, requiring prolonged sitting while performing administrative tasks. The role involves extensive use of a computer for typing, mouse navigation, and reading information on a screen for extended periods. Frequent phone use is required for communication with team members, clients, or external parties. Essential physical functions include fingering, grasping, pulling hand-over-hand, and repetitive motions necessary for navigating software, entering data, and interacting with electronic documents.

Mental and Cognitive Requirements:
The role requires strong concentration, attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks accurately. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential to address issues that may arise in day-to-day duties. Effective verbal and written communication skills are needed for responding to inquiries and collaborating with others.

Work Environment:
This position is fully remote and requires a home office environment with appropriate lighting, a computer, and phone access. The workspace should be free from distractions to ensure effective focus and productivity during work hours.
