The Revenue Cycle Billing Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of one of Ascend's business units. This role ensures that billing operations are conducted accurately, timely, and in compliance with all applicable regulations while maximizing revenue and supporting the organization's financial objectives. 
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with extensive experience in revenue cycle management, deep expertise in the XiFin RCM platform, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence. This individual will be responsible for optimizing billing processes, enhancing team performance, improving key revenue cycle metrics, and fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for driving sales growth, building strong relationships with healthcare providers, and expanding our market presence within the assigned area of responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of selling laboratory testing services along with the ability to work independently while achieving ambitious targets covering a multi-state territory.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to the Billing Department and staff to ensure complete, accurate and compliant submission of all claims, and timely collections of all billings (3rd party Medicare, managed care, and commercial insurance, as well as client bill and direct patient pay)
  • Oversee all billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to payors.
  • Manage and develop billing department staff and effectively collaborate with functional areas, including sales and operations, to address, correct and provide education on problems related to billing issues.
  • Manage and optimize the revenue cycle process, including billing, coding, collections, and accounts receivable.
  • Provide strategic insight into billing and reimbursement experience and execute key projects and objectives to address reimbursement related needs.
  • Analyze billing data and generate reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, clinical staff, and coding specialists, to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, payor policies, and billing standards, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
  • Monitor and address billing discrepancies, denials, and claims appeals, implementing solutions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Develop and maintain payor fee schedules and negotiate contracts to optimize reimbursements.
  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and reimbursement policies, ensuring the organization remains compliant and proactive.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in revenue cycle management or medical billing, with a proven track record of leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing systems, insurance payors, and reimbursement processes.
  • Expertise in healthcare coding standards (e.g., CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in revenue cycle software and data analysis tools such as Tableau.  Must have 4 years of experience using XiFin RCM platform to include file maintenance functions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively across teams.
Compensation:
- $91,800
