The Clinical Informatics Education Specialist is part educator, part innovator, and part change‑champion—bringing learning to life for clinicians and teams across PSJH. This role transforms complex EHRs and information systems into clear, engaging, and user‑friendly learning experiences that stick. Working side‑by‑side with clinical informatics partners, system analysts, and stakeholders, the Specialist designs smart, efficient curriculum rooted in adult learning and real‑world workflows. From dynamic virtual classes and self‑paced eLearning to multimedia content, training environments, and go‑live support, this role ensures users feel confident, capable, and supported. With a focus on adoption, optimization, and continuous improvement, the Clinical Informatics Education Specialist doesn’t just teach systems—they empower people and spark lasting change across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Informatics, Healthcare., Or equivalent education/experience
  • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Epic certification in one or more Epic modules as assigned to support the needs of the Cl education team and CI department. Certification to be initiated as directed and completed within 6 months upon completion of Epic training. Once obtained, Epic certification must remain current for assigned modules. 
  • Other system application certifications to complete assigned work; certifications are expected to be completed on all modules assigned to support the needs of the Cl education team and department as a whole. 
  • Epic and other system application certifications are expected to be completed on all modules assigned to support the needs of the CI education team and CI department. Once obtained, Epic certification must remain current for assigned modules. 
  • If an RN, Active license as a Registered Nurse by the affiliated State Board of Nursing of the State where the individual lives. Active license or certification to practice as a clinician is required if applicable (Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapists, Dietitian, Clinical Social Worker, Respiratory Therapist). 
  • 2 years experience in roles focused on designing and writing education and training materials and/or delivering training.
  • 2 years experience in a position working with and/or supporting business and/or clinical information systems within a healthcare setting with a preference for training delivery experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training in a healthcare related field., Or equivalent education/experience
  • Within 5 years of hire: Education or Instructional Design related certification 
  • Experience supporting working in a multi-site healthcare organization.
  • Experience in a position working with Epic.
  • Experience with designing eLearning content for and use of interactive and video software such as Captivate, Articulate, and Camtasia.
  • The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience supporting multiple EPIC service lines in an acute setting, with certifications/accreditations reflecting this.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position.  The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
