Partner with Sales through discovery and demos, design technical integrations (APIs, webhooks, SFTP, Zapier), scope requirements, build demos and enablement content, manage handoffs to Onboarding, and improve sales-to-implementation processes.

At Voxie, we believe conversation is the future. We've created the only SMS platform purpose-built for franchises, helping national brands drive local results across 15,000+ locations. Our AI-enhanced texting solution transforms how multi-unit businesses engage customers, drive sales, and stay compliant all with a few clicks.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a technically savvy problem-solver with strong executive presence — someone who can lead a room, bring real solutions, and shepherd customers through the messy middle of complex implementations.

Role Overview

We're seeking a Sales Engineer to be the technical backbone of our sales and implementation process. This is a full-cycle role: you partner with Sales through discovery and demos, then own technical scoping and integration design through handoff to our Onboarding team. The seat is intentionally broader than a traditional SE role. You'll also build demos, product videos, and enablement content that raise the technical bar of the entire go-to-market team.

What You'll Be Doing

Full-Cycle Solutions Engineering

  • Sales Partnership & Discovery: Join Sales calls to uncover prospects' technical landscape, pain points, and business goals.
  • Technical Scoping & Demos: Design and deliver tailored, technically-informed demos that show how Voxie solves real problems.
  • Requirements Gathering: Document client workflows, tech stacks, and integration needs in a way both clients and internal teams can use.
  • Integration Design & Documentation: Own integration field mappings, process flows, and technical specifications.

Project Management & Deal Orchestration

  • Proactive Communication: Run the follow-ups, status updates, and open-item tracking that keep deals moving.
  • Handoff Excellence: Deliver a complete requirements handoff to Onboarding covering use cases, messaging strategy, and integration scope.

Implementation & Integration Leadership

  • Technical Translation: Bridge clients, third-party vendors, and our internal teams, translating technical requirements into language everyone understands.
  • Integration Orchestration: Navigate APIs, webhooks, Zapier, SFTP, and other integration paths to keep data flowing between systems.

Enablement & Product Storytelling

  • Custom Demos & Demo Environments: Build reusable demo environments and use-case demos the entire sales team can pull from.
  • Product Video & Content: Create short-form product videos and walkthroughs for Sales and Marketing.
  • Sales & Team Enablement: Run internal enablement sessions and document technical best practices.

Process Building & Optimization

  • Standardization Champion: Build repeatable processes and documentation standards that scale as we grow.
  • Feedback Loop: Surface friction in the sales-to-implementation journey and recommend improvements to Product and Engineering.

What We're Looking For

Must Haves

  • Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with APIs, webhooks, SFTP, and other integration tools. You don't need to write production code, but you know what's possible.
  • Project Management Instincts: You build the plan, sequence the work, track open items, and communicate status without being asked.
  • Communication Superpowers: You explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences (and vice versa) without losing anyone.
  • Marketing Technology Background: Previous work in email, SMS, or marketing automation. You get deliverability, compliance, and campaign orchestration.
  • AI Fluency: You use AI tools to accelerate documentation, process mapping, and technical communication, and you know how to validate the output.
  • Pre-Sales Experience: You've supported sales teams through technical discovery, demos, and proof-of-concept phases, or equivalent client-facing technical work.
  • Comfort with Complex Deals: Longer sales cycles, complex tech stacks, and multiple stakeholders don't faze you.
  • Documentation Excellence: Clear, comprehensive technical documentation is your default, not an afterthought.
  • Process-Oriented Mindset: You spot inefficiencies and build systems that fix them.

Bonus Points

  • Franchise Familiarity: Experience with franchise business models and their operational structures.
  • Onboarding/Implementation Experience: You've been in the trenches during client implementations.
  • Content Creation: Video production, screen-capture walkthroughs, or product marketing content you've made yourself.
  • Enterprise SE Tenure: Years of dedicated sales/solutions-engineering experience in enterprise SaaS.

Why You'll Love Working Here
  • 100% employer-paid health coverage – Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life/AD&D (employee-only)
  • Remote-first culture – Work from anywhere with our globally distributed team
  • Flexible PTO – We trust you to manage your time. Take what you need, no tracking required.
  • Annual company offsite – Connect with the team in person once a year
  • Built-in recharge time – Summer Fridays and quarterly R&R days
  • Paid Parental Leave  & Adoption Assistance – Support when your family grows

Salary Range: 110,000-150,000 USD annually

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
