Angott Search Group has partnered with a fast-growing provider of enterprise-scale data management and migration technologies to find a Senior/Founding Solutions Engineer. This company is scaling rapidly in North America and looking for a results-oriented sales leader to spearhead growth across major enterprise accounts.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of architecture, performance tuning, and enterprise-scale data movement. You’ll work directly with IT infrastructure teams, cloud architects, and system administrators to design and validate high-performance solutions across data storage, backup, and migration environments.

The company is a European enterprise software leader rapidly expanding across North America, with strong traction in high-performance computing (HPC), life sciences, media, and government sectors.

Why This Role Matters

You’ll be a key technical contributor in the company’s U.S. expansion, serving as the bridge between enterprise customers, sales, and engineering. Your work will directly influence multimillion-dollar data management initiatives and ensure customers achieve scalable, secure, and high-performing outcomes.

This position is ideal for an engineer who’s more comfortable in a terminal than in a slideshow — someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, testing real-world performance, and shaping architectures that move petabytes of unstructured data efficiently and reliably.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with Sales and Partner teams to develop and deliver technical solutions for enterprise clients.
  • Lead discovery sessions to assess existing infrastructure, data flow bottlenecks, and migration workflows.
  • Design, implement, and validate proofs of concept (POCs) that demonstrate product capabilities in customer environments.
  • Build scalable architectures integrating on-prem and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) with enterprise storage systems.
  • Troubleshoot performance and throughput issues across large-scale, multi-petabyte environments.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product Management to relay customer feedback and influence roadmap direction.
  • Support seamless handoff from pre-sales to post-deployment teams, ensuring technical continuity and customer success.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customer stakeholders, partners, and internal teams.

What You Bring

  • 7–10 years of combined experience in enterprise storage, data protection, backup, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to design and validate large-scale backup, archive, and migration solutions.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux and Windows environments, including file system and NAS protocols (NFS, SMB/CIFS).
  • Experience troubleshooting complex data-movement or performance issues in real-world infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills — capable of simplifying technical complexity for diverse audiences.
  • A self-directed, analytical mindset with a passion for experimentation and elegant system design.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS, StorNext).
  • Background in HPC, Media & Entertainment, Life Sciences, or Research workloads.
  • Prior experience working with system integrators, OEMs, or channel partners.
  • Familiarity with data transfer tools or tuning (e.g., Rsync, Robocopy).

What Success Looks Like

  • You become the technical cornerstone of the U.S. go-to-market team.
  • You consistently lead and win complex enterprise POCs.
  • You help close high-value, multi-site enterprise deals.
  • You’re recognized internally and externally as a subject-matter expert in data movement and protection.
  • You help shape product evolution through real-world customer insight.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $150,000 – $175,000
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $175,000 – $210,000
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Professional development allowance
  • Opportunities for both domestic and international travel

Ideal Candidate Profile

You’re an engineer at heart — curious, methodical, and precise. You take pride in designing robust, scalable systems and have a knack for uncovering performance bottlenecks others might miss. You’re also commercially aware: you understand how technical architecture connects to business outcomes and can partner effectively with account teams to deliver value-driven solutions.
