Hunt and close net-new SMB clients across the Bay Area and Seattle by building outbound pipeline from scratch. Prospect, qualify, and convert leads with founders and operators into signed engagements. Run full sales cycles, meet aggressive revenue and logo targets, and establish local market presence. Field-based, territory-driven role reporting to the Director of Sales.
Emumba is seeking a full-time Sales Specialist, New Business to open new doors and bring in net-new revenue outside our current enterprise base. This is a pure hunting role, focused on SMBs across the Bay Area and Seattle markets, spanning both tech and traditional industries. These are organizations with real, emerging needs in software, data, and AI.
This role centers on prospecting, opportunity creation, and closing first engagements. You will build and run outbound motion from scratch: identifying target accounts, opening conversations with founders, owners, and operators, qualifying real needs, and converting cold or warm leads into signed engagements. This is a field-based, territory-driven role reporting to the Director of Sales and Strategic Growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience: 8+ years in new-business sales or business development, ideally selling technical or professional services into SMB or mid-market accounts.
- Sales Motion: A true hunter who self-generates pipeline from scratch through cold outreach, referral generation, and local business community presence, energized by prospecting and closing new business.
Compensation
- Base salary: USD 110,000, with a variable target of USD 90,000 at full quota attainment (100% of Year 1 revenue target, see below), for total on-target earnings of USD 200,000. Commission is uncapped and paid on every dollar of signed SOW value closed.
- Benefits: Employer-sponsored health insurance.
Targets
- Year 1 Revenue: USD 1,500,000 in closed new-business bookings (signed SOWs).
- Year 2 Revenue: USD 3,000,000 in closed new-business bookings (signed SOWs).
- New Logos: 15 net-new SMB clients signed across Bay Area and Seattle in Year 1, scaling in Year 2.
- Pipeline Generation: Self-sourced pipeline of 10 to 15 qualified opportunities per quarter.
- Market Coverage: Established presence and relationships in both target markets by end of Year 1.
