In your role as SMB Sales Manager, you’ll be leading, managing and mentoring our team of SMB sales executives as they work to uncover, develop, and close opportunities with employers. Your primary areas of focus will be:
- Small and Medium Sized employers – Focused on employers with 2 to 4,999 employees
- Employer Benefit Brokers and Consultants – Supporting the team as they educate and equip the consulting/brokerage market on who Ginger is
- Partner Channel Opportunities - Uncovering opportunities to collaborate and enhance Ginger’s availability within SMB-focused partnership channels

Responsibilities:
- Mentor, coach and encourage the SMB sales team in their efforts to attract new clients
- Build strategic relationships across a matrix of roles and areas of expertise within employers and consultancies
- Deliver upon core sales metrics, identifying opportunities, growing pipelines and developing new partnerships
- Develop an operating calendar, a detailed account plan/forecast, and account planning/mapping process for review
- Maximize, drive and achieve revenue and margin goals while staying within the allocated budget
- Help increase Ginger market share within the SMB division
- Demonstrate a broad comprehension of the customer’s needs, market trends, industry challenges, major players, relevant products and technologies
About you and Requirements:
- A proven track record of success as a leader in the employee benefits marketplace as a sales leader
- 10+ years of progressive sales experience and 3+ years as a sales leader/manager
- Experience in a business-to-business environment, selling employee benefits and services
- A robust network of contacts
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Outstanding presentation skills, including effectiveness in small and large group settings, both in person and via virtual meeting tools and/or conference calls
- Strong project and account management skills
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with highly-talented sales professionals
- The ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within an organization
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline
Bonus:
- Experience successfully navigating the employer ecosystem (consultants, brokers, payers, TPA, etc.) to drive growth is a plus
- Complex and strategic sales experience
