Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Data Migration Architect to lead and execute complex data migration projects within the Salesforce ecosystem. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, Salesforce best practices, and hands-on expertise in end-to-end data migration. The Data Migration Architect will work on Salesforce implementations across clouds, ensuring seamless and accurate data transitions while maintaining data integrity and compliance. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead team of data migration specialists and develop best in class capabilities. 

  • Partner with Account Teams by providing input to scope of work and estimates for new engagements.

  • Data Migration Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive data migration strategies for Salesforce implementations, upgrades, and integrations.

  • Lead end-to-end customer migration engagements.

  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand and document migration needs, data sources, and target system requirements.

  • Design and validate data models, ensuring proper alignment between legacy systems and Salesforce data structures.

  • Build, test, and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using industry-standard tools such as CozyRoc, DbAmp, and Salesforce-specific solutions (e.g., Data Loader, MuleSoft, Informatica).

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve data quality issues, including duplicates, inconsistencies, and incomplete records.

  • Provide architectural guidance and best practices for Salesforce data management and migration projects.

  • Design and execute comprehensive testing plans, including data reconciliation and post-migration validation.

  • Maintain detailed documentation for data migration processes, mapping, and technical configurations.

  • Work closely with Salesforce admins, developers, and external partners to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements during the migration process.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in data migration, with at least 5 years focused on Salesforce.

  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce core architecture and specific clouds including Sales, Service, Field Service, Revenue and Experience.

  • Familiarity with data structures for common

  • Proficiency with ETL tools and APIs.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce tools like Data Loader, Workbench, and Inspector.

  • Experience in large-scale migration projects involving millions of records.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Salesforce certifications – Platform Administrator, Platform Data Architect, Data 360 Consultant.

Key Competencies

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail, particularly in ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Strong understanding of business processes and how they integrate with Salesforce data.

  • Ability to create and manage data migration deployment plans with detailed attention to dependencies and timeline.

  • Proven ability to lead code reviews that adhere to the team coding standards.
